  • Big Band Sound to perform patriotic concert July 11
    The Big Band Sound will feature a patriotic medley to honor America’s birthday, when it performs at the monthly dance at the Fairfield Glade Community Center on Saturday, July 11. The salute to the Red, White and Blue is scheduled from 7 to 10 p.m. Tickets are $12.50 per person.

  • Monday concert to benefit Jay Fox
    A concert to benefit Jay Fox, gospel singer from Crossville, is planned for Monday at 7 p.m. at the Palace Theatre.

  • Homestead celebration set for July 25

Chattanooga comic actor/singer Jason Ross and Knoxville singer/actress Lar’Juanette Williams join Playhouse star alum Britt Hancock, direct from the National Tour of Hairspray, as the ever-smilin’ host of Baltimore’s “The Corny Collins Show,” a “Bandstand”-type teenage TV dance show.

  • Senior Health and Inspiration Day set for June 25
    On Thursday, June 25, Cumberland Medical Center, the Silver Servants of Linary Church of Christ, and the Fair Park Senior Center will present the 10th annual Senior Health and Inspiration Day at the Cumberland County Community Complex located at 1398 Livingston Road in Crossville.

    The band Jada Blade, comprised of three local residents, will be the opening act for the '80s sensation Survivor, who wrote "Eye of the Tiger." This event will take place in Oak Ridge on June 20, at 7 p.m.

    The Cumberland County Piecemakers quilt show on Friday, June 19, and Saturday, the 20, at the fairgrounds has a special award that only the men who come to the show can vote on.

    Upper Cumberland Arts Alliance invites you to the second annual Fresh Air Festival. This event is set for Saturday, June 20, 10 a.m. to 5 p.m., in historic Granville located in Jackson County.

  • Depot Days rolls into town Friday and Saturday
    Depot Days will be held this weekend in downtown Crossville, with numerous events set for Friday and Saturday.

  • “Mountain Memories Quilt Show” set for June 19-20
    The Cumberland County Piecemakers Quilt Guild is having its 5th Biennial “Mountain Memories Quilt Show” June 19-20, in Crossville. The show will take place at the Community Complex (fairgrounds) during Depot Days; a popular antique tractor show is held at the fairgrounds at the same time, so there will be something for everyone to enjoy! Hours of the Quilt Show are Friday, 9 a.m. to 6 p.m. CDT, and Saturday, 9 a.m. to 5 p.m. CDT.

  • Art Studio Tour set for June 13 in Fairfield Glade
    Since its inception in 1978, the Art Guild at Fairfield Glade has become a well-known center for the visual arts on the Cumberland Plateau. The guild serves Cumberland County at large by sponsoring art scholarships for graduating high school students, summer art programs for children, the school picture person program, access to its special art library, and many workshops.

  • "Shenandoah" closes soon
    Shenandoah, the Civil War musical, closes at Cumberland County Playhouse in Crossville on June 14. The Tony Award winning musical is sponsored by M. Stewart Galloway, MD/Cumberland Eye Care.

  • Big Band Sound to perform June 13 in Fairfield Glade
    The Big Band Sound will play Saturday, June 13, for a Fiesta Dance at the Fairfield Glade Community and Conference Center. The event is scheduled from 7 to 10 p.m. Tickets are $12.50 per person.

  • Boyce to perform in Pleasant Hill June 7
    Steve Boyce, tenor soloist, will perform on Sunday, June 7 at 3 p.m. in Adshead Hall of Fletcher House in Pleasant Hill. Boyce is a soloist for the Knoxville Choral Society, the Knoxville Chamber Chorale, and a cantor at St. John’s Episcopal Cathedral in Knoxville.

  • Local artists to show off work at June 6 show
    Three Cumberland County residents will be among other artisans participating in the festival named "On the Beaten Path" Saturday June 6, 10 a.m. to 5 p.m. (rain date Sunday June 7, noon to 7 p.m.) at the Stella Luna Gallery, 412 College Street Bridge, Smithville, (615) 597-4004.     Cumberland County Playhouse’s most requested show, The Foreigner, returns to the Playhouse Mainstage on May 22. The wild and brilliant comedy is sponsored by Comfort Suites, Holiday Inn Express, and Hampton Inn and runs through October 4.

  • "Appalachian Dreams" hits the stage at Roane State May 16
    Tickets are available for "Appalachian Dreams," a multimedia variety show hosted by Bill Landry that will feature music, history and storytelling. Performances are scheduled for 2 p.m. and 7 p.m. on Saturday, May 16, in the theater on Roane State Community College's Roane County campus.

  • BBQ cookoff set for May 16 in Fairfield
