The CCHS Jet baseball team finished 1-2 in the Mountain Man Classic to fall to 7-16-1 on the season, as they lost to Oak Ridge 5-2 Thursday, beat Anderson County 8-4 Saturday and lost to Livingston 12-7 in eight innings  Saturday evening.

Friday's games were washed out.

Oak Ridge 5, CCHS 2: Morgan Richards, Tayler Houston and Jacob Hayes pitched for the Jets, allowing five runs on 12 hits with one strikeout, four walks and four hitbatsmen. Richard was the losing pitcher.

Wildcat pitcher Reid Elwood allowed five hits — one each to Matt Ledbetter, Ethan Cunningham, Reed Shaw, Ryan Burgess and Dylan Fehr.

Oak Ridge scored two runs in the second on three consecutive singles by Matthew Whittaker, Kyyler Jones and Elliott Normand and two hitbatsmen.

The Wildcats added a solo run in the fifth on singles by Jordan Lane, Matt McDaniel  and Ralph O'Neal and a sacrifice fly, and added one more run in the sixth on singles by Traven Proveaux, and Prentice Young and a hitbatsman.

Another solo run in the seventh on threee singles, an error and a fielder's choice made the score 5-2.

CCHS scored its first run in the bottom of the fourth on a double by Cunningham, a passed ball and a groundout by Reed Shaw, and plated its second run in the fifth on singles by Burgess, Fehr, an error and a stolen base.

CCHS 8, Anderson County 4: After being rained out Friday, the Jets opened Saturday play with the victory over the Mavericks, as David Elliott and Matt Ledbetter combined for the victory.

Elliott earned the win, allowing two runs on nine hits with two strikeouts and one walk in six innings, while Ledbetter earned a save, striking out two with one walk.

Nathaniel Wyatt and Dylan Fehr each smacked two hits, while Ledbetter, Houston, Cunningham, Shew, Burgess and Cameron O'Rourke each smashed one hit off of four Anderson County hurlers.

The Mavericks scored an unearned run in the top of the first on two singles and an error, while Jet catcher Bobby Uebelacker threw out a runner trying to swipe third base.

The Jets plated six runs in the bottom of the first, with four coming on a grand slam homer by Shaw, after singles by Ledbetter and Houston and a walk to Cunningham for a 4-1 advantage. A two-out single by Fehr, after Burgess singled, stole second and moved to third on a error and a walk and stolen base by O'Rourke.

Anderson County added one run in the second on a double by Grant Parrett and an RBI single by Caleb Bruce, and plated two more runs in the third on a hitbatsman, a triple by Daniel Newman, a walk and a two-run double by Carson Park to slice the Jet lead to 6-4.

Elliott allowed a single in the fifth to Taylor Hicks, who was picked off on a throw from Elliott to Houston to Fehr, and gave up a two double in the sixth.

Two runners reached in the seventh off  Elliott. Ledbetter came in and shut the door to earn a save.

CCHS added two insurance runs in the bottom of the sixth a single by walk, a catcher's interference call, a double steal by Wyatt and Uebelacker and singles by O'Rourke and Fehr.

Livingston 12, CCHS 7: The Wildcats scored seven runs in the top of the eighth inning on three hits, three walks, a hitbatsman and a sacrifce fly, after the Jets rallied in the sixth and seventh innings to tie the game at 5-5.

Livingston scored three runs in the first inning off starter Drew Vaden and reliever Jacob Hayes. The Wildcats had three singles, two walks and a hitbatsman in the first inning.

They scored twice in the top of the second on back-to-back homers by Conner Olliver and Hunter McDonald. After a walk and a double by Bubba Jolley, Matt Vanlandingham came on to get the last out and worked 5 1/3 innings of shutout relief to allow his teammates to rally to tie the game, allowing just one hit with two walks and a strikeout.

CCHS scored twice in the bottom of the third on an error and singles by Fehr and Shaw to slice the lead to 5-2, and added two more runs in the bottom of the sixth on singles by Burgess and Ledbetter and a double by O'Rourke.

The Jets tied the game in the bottom of the seventh on a double by Wyatt, a wild pitch and a single by Burgess.

Richards and John Hayes both pitched the final inning, with Richards giving up the seven runs to suffer the loss.

CCHS scored two, two-out unearned runs in the seven on a walk, fielder's choice, an error and doubles by Cunningham and Shaw.

Burgess had three hits in the game, while Shaw and O'Rourke each poked two hits. Ledbetter, Cunningham, Wyatt and Fehr poked one hit. Vaden, Jacob Hayes, Vanlandingham, Richards and John Hayes allowed 12 runs on nine hits with two strikeouts, four walks and a couple of hitbatsmen.

Schedule: CCHS traveled to Warren County Monday, with the Pioneers returning the favor Tuesday. The Jets travel to Upperman Thursday and will host York Friday for senior night.
