The SMHS Lady Panther softball hosted District 4AA rival Christian Academy of Knoxville (CAK) Thursday afternoon; however, the Lady Warriors left with a 7-2 victory. 

The Lady Warriors scored three runs in the first inning, three runs in the fourth and once in the sixth. 

SMHS scored one run in the third, when Sydney Brown reached on an error, stole second and third, and scored on Casey Swafford's fielder's choice. Lindsay Potter also poked a single in the inning. 

The Lady Panthers added a run in the fourth, after walks to Chasity Hancock and Allie Shultz and a squeeze bunt by Kaitlyn Reagan. 

The only other hit of the night came in fifth when Casey Swafford tripled but was left stranded. 

Rachel Mathews allowed nine hits, one walk and five strikeouts. SMHS committed six errors in the game. The Lady Panthers had only two hits.

Schedule: The Cookeville Tournament was rained out over the weekend.

The Lady Panthers hosted Scott County Monday evening and travel to Monterey Tuesday.
