The championship games for the Cumberland County elementary junior varsity basketball tournament have been set for Friday night at Martin Elementary. The top seeded North Lady Patriots will face the seeded South Lady Rebels at 6 p.m., while the top seeded South Rebels will face the second seeded Homestead Bulldogs at 7:30 p.m.
North 28, Crab Orchard 13: Chloe Reagan tossed in 12 points to lead the Lady Patriots to the championship game. Rounding out the scoring were Annah Goos (2), Gracie Bowman (2), Natalie Hecker (9) and Carlee Amonette (3).
Leading scorers for Crab Orchard were Katie Adkisson with seven points and Courtney Watson with six markers.
Homestead 32, North 30: Brendon Tipps and Cameron McDonald each had eight markers for the Bulldogs. Rounding out the scoring was Zack Boyd (3), Ethan Wilhite (3), Matthew Bilbrey (5) and Riley Day (5).
Chris Coudriet led the Patriots with 16 points, followed by Hunter Wattenbarger (6), Wes Stover (6) and Will Hecker (2).
South 27, Homestead 21: No scoring information was avaiable.
South 32, Martin 26: Kaleb McCoy tallied 16 points to lead the Rebels. Rounding out the scoring was Jack Eldridge (8), Drew Davidson (2), Nick Horvath (2) and Jack Forte (2). Steven Day and Zeke Baucom also played.
Ace Hawkins led Martin with 15 points, followed by Tristan Miller (6), Andre Flores (3) and Tucker Christopher (2). Zach Miller also played.
In girls action Saturday, Pleasant Hill defeated Pine View, and then lost to North, while Crab Orchard defeated Martin, Homestead bested Brown and South defeated Stone.
In boys action Saturday, Brown defeated Pine View and then lost to South, while Martin defeated Pleasant hill, Homestead downed Stone and North defeated Crab Orchard.
The varsity season begins Nov. 17.
