The Cumberland County High School Jets baseball team finished second in the NABF East Tennessee District and earned a berth into the NABF High School World Series.

The Cumberland County Jets baseball team recently finished up their summer season with a 14-10 record and a second-place finish in the National Amateur Baseball Federation’s East Tennessee District.

The district is composed of teams from Lenoir City, Knoxville, Oak Ridge, and Clinton.

The Jets will compete this upcoming week in the NABF World Series and will represent Tennessee in a field of 32 teams from all over the eastern United States and Canada.

The tournament will be held in Knoxville. This will be the second straight year the Jets have competed in this tournament. Last season, the Jets advanced to the round of 16 and finished with a 3-2 overall tournament record.

The Jets will play the Upstate Vipers at 9 a.m. Thursday, July 22, at Hardin Valley High School and the Brooklyn Cougars a 4:30 p.m.

They will play the Belair Braves on Friday, July 23, at Oak Ridge High School.

The tournament continues through Saturday.
