SMHS taks on Bobcats Friday for Homecoming

"It's Gonna Be a Cat Fight"


CROSSVILLE — Stone Memorial High School is celebrating homecoming this week, capped by Friday's  game with the Pickett County Bobcats at 7 p.m. on Panther Field. The crowning of the 2013 homecoming queen will be at halftime Friday.

The theme for this year's homecoming is "It's Gonna Be a Cat Fight."

Dress up days are: Pajama Day (Monday), Duck Dynasty Day (Tuesday), Senior Citizens Day (Wednesday), Hero/Villain Day (Thursday) and Black/Gold Day (Friday).

The school will be sponsoring a "Teacher Door Decoration" contest.

There will be a Powder Puff football game on Sept. 12, beginning at 4 p.m.  A pep rally/bonfire will follow that evening.


With homecoming activities going on at SMHS this week, the volleyball, soccer and golf teams will also be in action.

•After competing in the volleyball challenge at Bearden Saturday, the Lady Panther volleyball team traveled to Wartburg Monday and to Warren County Thursday for a District 6AAA match, before hosting the Queen of the Mountain Tournament Saturday morning.

•The Lady Panther soccer team will be on the road this week — Tuesday at Rhea County for a District 6AAA match.

•The SMHS golf teams played CCHS and White County at Stonehenge Monday, White County at River Watch Tuesday and Kingston at Lakeside Wednesday.
