CROSSVILLE — The city of Crossville recently proclaimed Dec. 2 as Carol Ransdell Day as an expression of appreciation for her 50 years of service in education. Ransdell, who was also presented a key to the city by Mayor J.H. Graham III, said she comes from a family of many teachers, including both her parents. She began her teaching career in Ohio in 1963, retiring after 34 years of service. After moving to Crossville, she continued her career at Stone Elementary for 14 years. Ransdell, a lung cancer survivor, taught first grade at the school and is looking forward to coming back and volunteering in the classroom when she can.
