The Master Gardener's 2013 Summer Internship Program is open for applicants. If you are interested in a 10-week internship of ongoing research within an outdoor laboratory, now is the time to apply.
The opportunity is open to any college student with preference as follows:
1. Enrollment in plant sciences and/or related field of study
2. Status of upper class student over lower class student
Interested applicants must be willing and able to work outdoors, have a valid driver's license and able to lift 25 pounds.
Specific duties will be developed based upon the interest and strengths of the successful candidate but will include:
•Assist within the demonstration garden
•Develop and present a gardening lecture
•Assist with on-going research at the center
•Record day-to-day activities in a production log
Interested applicants must provide a completed application which is available on the CCMGA (www.ccmga.org) and UT PREC websites, a copy of college transcript, three letters of reference and resume by February 1, 2013.
The applicant will be paid a $10 hourly rate based on a 40 hour work week. Housing is included and credit for coursework is subject to approval from attending college.
