Brown students have a voice in their learning experience

Submitted

CROSSVILLE — Students at Brown Elementary are given a voice in their learning through the Student Advisory Council. Comprised of representatives in fifth through eighth grades, students have the opportunity to contribute ideas to a variety of issues, including effective learning strategies and positive behavior reinforcement.

Members are involved in decision-making and helping to find ways to motivate students to make responsible choices and encourage academic achievement.

During the council meetings, school administrators are also able to understand and address areas of student concern; they may incorporate recommendations into school and classroom practices. By building these connections with students, Brown Elementary is demonstrating a commitment to continued improvement and student success.
