Community walk benefits Avalon Center

Over a hundred people showed up to participate in the Avalon Walk to Wipe Out Domestic Violence. Women, children, men and even dogs showed up to raise money for the Avalon Center Oct. 8. The walk route, which was approximately three miles, began at the courthouse gazebo that morning.

Local BeautiControl consultant Cynthia Hale set up a table featuring BeautiControl items on the courthouse lawn for those who participated in the Avalon walk to browse through. BeautiControl also had a drawing for a basket of various products. Hale volunteers with the Avalon Center and celebrated one year of volunteering at the Walk. / (Click for larger image)
