It was an "egg-citing" time at Centennial Park last week as hundreds of children of all ages gathered for the 11th annual egg hunt on April 9. This year the different age groups, ranging from walking through eight years old, were divided among various ball fields speckled with colorful Easter eggs.

After scouring the fields and filling their baskets full of eggs, the search began to see which of them contained certificates for prizes.

One-year-old Maggie Sherrill enjoyed the eggs she found with her parents.

Once a prize egg was found, the children rushed to gather their prizes from the table set up near the park's entrance. A variety of board games, balls and other toys were up for grabs.
