Ida L. Davenport

Aug. 3, 1921 — Dec. 31, 2006

Ida Lee (Crabtree) Davenport, 85, of Monterey, passed away Dec. 31, 2006. Funeral services were conducted Jan. 3 from the chapel of Bilbrey Funeral Home, with Bro. Archie Howard and Bro. Gary Howard officiating. Interment was in Mayland Cemetery.

Mrs. Davenport was born Aug. 3, 1921, in Livingston, the daughter of Charlie and Cordelia (Clark) Crabtree.

She was of the Baptist faith.

Survivors include her daughters, Linda Howard of Crossville, Barbara Brown of Harriman and Lorene "Lori" Eckert of Columbia, IL; sons, Michael Davenport of Crossville and Odell Davenport of Harriman; 26 grandchildren; 42 great-grandchildren; and two great-great-grandchildren.

In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Dewey Davenport; daughters, Anna Lou Hodgins, Elizabeth Campbell and Deanna Harville; stepdaughter, Marie Robinett; sons, Charlie Davenport, Avery Davenport and Archie Davenport; four grandchildren; and three great-grandchildren.

Pallbearers were Terry McCloud, Michael Harville, Mitchell Hodgin, Kerry Feder, Keith Farley and Howard Woolfrom Jr.

Gladis J. DiAngelo

Nov. 25, 1916 — Dec. 30, 2006

Gladis Jewel (Watley) DiAngelo, 90, of Crossville, passed away Dec. 30, 2006. Funeral services were conducted Jan. 3 from the chapel of Bilbrey Funeral Home, with the Rev. Richard Gillen officiating. Interment was in Eastland Cemetery in White County.

Mrs. DiAngelo was born Nov. 25, 1916, in Crossville, the daughter of Lon and Flora M. (Scott) Watley.

Survivors include her daughter, Sandra Vincent of Crossville; sons, Ronald Miller of Crossville, Terry Miller of Crossville and James Blaylock of Sparta; sister, Mae Jackson of Crossville; four grandchildren; and five great-grandchildren.

In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Dominic DiAngelo; son, Robert Miller; and brothers, Sevier Watley and Paul Watley.

Pallbearers were Adrin Jackson, Matthew Miller, Max Elmore, Kyle Elmore, Tommy Holt and Glenn Wyatt.

Betty J. Hyatt

May 5, 1933 — Nov. 27, 2006

Betty Jean Hyatt, 73, of Crossville, passed away Nov. 27, 2006. No services are planned at this time.

Mrs. Hyatt was born May 5, 1933, in Bladenbrough, NC, the daughter of Zachary and Ethel Evans Perkins.

She was retired as a nurse's aide and was a member of the Baptist faith. She loved knitting and watching her favorite TV shows.

Survivors include her son, James M. Hyatt of Clearwater, FL; daughters and sons-in-law, Catherine and Andrew Rexford of Crossville, Julie and Paul Smith of Spencer and Peggy Hyatt of Crossville; grandchildren, Sean Hyatt, Ephriam and Charles Hyatt, Jenny Wheeler, Sherry Hyatt, Andrew James Rexford, Jeremy Hyatt and Tony Hyatt; and great-grandchildren, Christopher Wheeler, Elaine Wheeler, Cole Rexford, Camryn Rexford, Seth Hyatt and McKenzie Hyatt.

Toney W. Rea

Aug. 12, 1925 — Dec. 26, 2006

Toney Woodrow Rea, 81, of Crossville, passed away Dec. 26, 2006. Funeral services were held Dec. 27 from the chapel of Hood Funeral Home, with Bro. Jack Lawson officiating. Burial was in Crossville City Cemetery on Dec. 28 with full military honors given.

Mr. Rea was born Aug. 12, 1925 in Ridgeway, VA, the son of Toney Lester and Gertrude Eggleston Rea.

He was self-employed in insurance sales and U.S. Navy veteran having served during World War II. He also attended Baptist Tabernacle. He enjoyed gardening and loved his grandchildren very much.

Survivors include his wife, Pearlene Rea of Crossville;, stepsons, Ricky Evans and wife Janice and Randall Hugh Evans, all of Crossville; step daughter, Pamela Ann Barnwell and husband Marc of Crossville; brother, Thomas D. Rea of Ridgeway; sisters, Georgia Ellett of Richmond, VA, Libby Durham of Ridgeway, VA, Ruth Franklin of Martinsville, VA and Sue Rea of Lugoff, SC; and grandchildren, Racheal Evans, Kellie Evans, Randall Evans, Casey Barnwell, Markie Barnwell and Troy Davenport.

In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his brothers, David Rea, Gene Rea and John Rea; and granddaughter, Jennifer Evans.

James A. Sorrell

Jan. 29, 1910 — Dec. 24, 2006

James Andrew Sorrell, 96, of Crossville, passed away Dec. 24, 2006. Graveside services were conducted Dec. 29 at Elmwood Cemetery in Birmingham, AL, with Jack Daniels and family officiating.

Mr. Sorrell was born Jan. 29, 1910, in Verbenin, AL, the son of Rufuss M. Sorrell and Lula Belle Abernathy Sorrell.

He was in civil service as a firefighter.

Survivors include his daughters and son-in-law, Audrae Vance of Crossville and Gloria and Jim C. Dalton of Rancho Cucamonga, CA; grandchildren, Andrew (Dawn) Dalton, David W. (Donna) Dalton, Debra A. (Michael) Boyd, Vance J. (Kim) McCoy, Tamara Vance Allen and Christopher S. Vance; great-grandchildren, Shawnda Potvin, Shaina (Tim) Harris, Gabrielle Dalton, Casey Jo Dalton, David and Sidney Dalton, Dori, Drew and Savannah McCoy, Johnna (Hunter) Selby, Jacqueline, Jessica, Trisha Durham, Nicholas Allen, Caethe and Connor Vance; great-great-grandchildren, Madelynn McLaughlin and Dane Allen Harris; brother-in-law, Henry A. Baughn of Jacksonville, FL; and several nieces and nephews.

In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his wife, Avis Baughn Sorrell; brothers, John, Gordon, Joyce, William and Sherman; and sisters, Leara, Dolly, Norma and Eulalia.

Darrell P. Wolfrum

Aug. 11, 1940 — Jan. 1, 2007

Darrell P. Wolfrum, 66, of Linden, MI, formerly of Fairfield Glade, passed away Jan. 1, 2007. Funeral services will be held at 1 p.m. Friday, Jan. 5, at the Streeter Funeral Home, 507 W. Maple, Byron, MI, with the Rev. Jack Johnston officiating. Cremation will follow the service.

Mr. Wolfrum was born Aug. 11, 1940, in Wabash, IN, the son of Paul and Mary (Garrison) Wolfrum.

He married Lynn M. Wenk in Wayne, MI, on April 18, 1989. He lived in the Linden area since November 2006, coming from Fairfield Glade.

He earned a bachelor's degree in engineering from Purdue University. He was a member of the Wabash Friends Church, Wabash, IN. He was a flight instructor at Purdue University for five years. He enjoyed golfing and his bowling league.

She was a sales engineer for the Cooper Standard Products, retiring in 2000 after 30 years of service.

Survivors include his wife, Lynn Wolfrum; stepchildren, Derek and wife Michel Brewer of Byron, MI, Matt Brewer of Westland, MI and Amy Brewer of Westland, MI; grandchildren, Jayce, Jared and Jamie Brewer, Marissa and Darrian Brewer; sister, Cordelia (Jerry) Wooldridge of Wabash, IN; nieces, Belinda and Jennifer; nephews, John and Don; and several very close cousins.

In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his grandson, Joshua.

Memorial donations may be made to the National Kidney Fund.
