Ruth Ann Morelan

CROSSVILLE — Ruth Ann Loden Morelan, 60, of Crossville, passed away May 23, 2010. Funeral services were held May 26 from the chapel of Hood Funeral Home. Bro. Cecil Bristow officiated and burial was in Mt. Zion Cemetery.

She was born July 8, 1949 in Cumberland County, the daughter of David Elmer and Mollie Evans Loden. She was currently employed as a sales associate at Walmart in Crossville, but had previously worked at Keiser-Roth in Rockwood and MasterBrand in Crossville. She enjoyed traveling and working in her flower gardens. Spending time with her grandchildren was her most precious pastime of all.

She is survived by her son, Keith Morelan and wife, Crissie, of Knoxville; grandchildren, McKenzie, Matthew and Christopher Morelan; sister, Violet Loden of Crossville; sister-in-law, Nancy Loden of Oakdale, PA; nephews, Jeff Loden of Oakdale, PA, and David Loden of Sherman Oaks, CA.

In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her brother, Avery Wallace Loden.

Pallbearers were Greg Adkins, Scott Elmore, Butch Burgess, Charles Ladd, Anthony Ladd and Doyle Houston.

Hood Funeral Home and Crematory, LLC (www.hoodfuneralhome.com) was in charge of the arrangements.

    It’s 4th of July again, a time to remember who we are and how our men and women have offered themselves as sacrifices to the gods of war—for patriotism, for adventure, love of country and concern for families. But we are at a point where we must now ask if more war in the Middle East is honorable or honest. There will always be proud volunteers from Tennessee, but some rethinking is in order.
