She was an avid reader and faithful fan of the Atlanta Braves. “Mama Betty” was a wonderful cook and well-known for her sweet tea.

She leaves behind to cherish warm memories her three children, Joe Paul Kington and his wife, Cynthia, of Columbia, TN; Debbie Thompson and her husband, Elvin, of Crossville, and George Kington and his wife, Linda, of Crossville. She was affectionately known as “Mama Betty” by her adoring grandchildren, Courtney Thompson Ko, Elliot Thompson, Catherine Kington, Steven Kington, Cady Kington, Jody Kington Boynton and Daniel, Michael and Mary Patterson. She was also survived by two great-grandchildren, Faith and Josie Boynton.

She leaves behind her devoted sister, Joy Rose, and brother, Nathan Howard, both of Crossville.
