Helen Davenport

CROSSVILLE — Jan. 2, 1944—March 20, 2013

Funeral services for Helen Davenport, 69, of Crossville, formerly of Dayton, OH, were conducted March 23 from the chapel of Goff Funeral Home in Monterey. The Rev. Danny Ashburn officiated, with interment following in the Haley's Grove Cemetery in Crab Orchard.

Mrs. Davenport was born Jan. 2, 1944, in Dayton, OH, to Alma Mae Turpin Edwards of Crossville and the late Carl Edwards.

Mrs. Davenport went home to be with Jesus March 20, 2013, at Cookeville Regional Medical Center.

Mrs. Davenport was a homemaker, a pastor's wife, and a very faithful member of the Cumberland Cove Baptist Church in Monterey.

She is survived by her husband of more than 50 years, Pastor Glen Davenport of Crossville;  her mother, Alma Mae Edwards, 99 years old, of Crossville; sons and daughter-in-law, Marty and Tina Davenport and Matthew Davenport, all of Crossville; grandchildren, Katelynn, Karl, Ryan and Grant Davenport, all of Crossville; sisters and brothers-in-law, Jane and Joe Reiter of Vandalia, OH, and Barbara and Lowell Davenport of Murfreesboro; brother and sister-in-law, Bill and Joanne Edwards of Vandalia, OH; more than 100 nieces and nephews; and friends galore.

In addition to her father, she was preceded in death by her sister, Vicki Trueax; and brothers, Paul, Kenneth, Thomas and Stanley Edwards.

She passed away on July 17, 2014, at the Wharton Homes at Uplands Village in Pleasant Hill. There will be a service of the worship of God in her memory at the Pleasant Hill Community Church in Pleasant Hill at 2 p.m. on Saturday, Aug. 2.
