Jim was born Aug. 29, 1933, and raised in Dearborn, MI, graduating from high school in 1951. He then spent four years in the Navy and returned to attend Henry Ford Community College and Wayne State University where he received a degree in metallurgy. Jim was a member of the Lions Club for 45 years. He was chairman of the sight and hearing screening program for the Cumberland County schools for several years. In 2005, he was given the Melvin Jones Award for outstanding humanitarian service to the club and the community. This is the highest award that can be given by a local Lions Club. Jim was a real teaser and never lost his sense of humor. He will be missed by his many friends and family.

He is survived by his children, David Seppala of Michigan and Kathryn Mischler of Ohio; and stepchildren, Britt Hollis and Holli Hollis, both of Michigan. He is also survived by five grandchildren and a sister, MaryAnn Masch of Michigan.
In lieu of flowers, the family requests donations to the Lions Club of Fairfield Glade.
