Albert Denton Wood, 87, of Crossville, passed away April 23, 2013. He was a long time member of Fairview Baptist Church. Services were conducted at Crossville Memorial Funeral Home April 26, with Robert Pollard officiating. Burial followed at Akins Cemetery.
Mr. Wood worked for many years at Manchester Tank before becoming a custodian for the Cumberland County School System, from which he retired. Mr. Wood was a loving and devoted husband and father.
He is survived by his loving wife of 66 years, Betty Pauline Wood; and four loving daughters and three sons-in-law, Mae and Roger Snyder, Betty and Mike Henderson, Linda and Roger Hill and Janice Wyatt. He has six grandchildren, Charlotte Nealon, Jeremy Sells, Melody York, Crystal Partyka, TJ Wyatt, and Tasha Wyatt. He also has eight great-grandchildren, Rachel and Jacob Nealon, Ryan and Dylan Sells, Hanna, Rachel and Clair York, and Faith Brown. He also leaves behind four brothers and sisters-in-law, Harless and Roberta Wood, Hebron and Margie Wood, O.C. and Edith Wood, and Richard and Elizabeth Wood. He also leaves two sisters and brothers-in-law, Mae and Jack Hill and Ruby and J.B. King.
He is preceded in death by loving daughter, Doris Arlene Lynn; parents, Cleveland and Florence Wood; brother, Estel Wood; and sisters, Mary Ellen Brewer and Addean Standefer.
Pallbearers are Richard Standefer, Rockie Standefer, Chris Hill, Tim Roark, Ryan Sells, and Tim Nealon.
Crossville Memorial Funeral Home and Crematory, Inc. was in charge of the arrangements.

Dear, beloved son, brother, uncle, father and friend Christopher Lynn Dishman was born Sept. 21, 1970, in Muncie, IN, to Steve and Janet Dishman. The Lord and Savior took him Dec. 8, 2013. Family will receive friends today, Dec. 11, from 5 to 8 p.m. at Crossville Memorial Funeral Home. Funeral service will be Thursday 1 p.m. with Bro. Donnie Bell officiating. Burial will be in Green Acres Memory Gardens.
Joyce Burgess Croft
Joyce Burgess Croft, 70, of Crossville, passed away Dec. 5, 2013. Funeral services were held Dec. 8 from the chapel of Hood Funeral Home. Pastor Steven Pickard officiated, with burial in the Allen Springs Cemetery.
Camille Barnwell Combs, 48, of Crossville, passed away Dec. 4, 2013. Funeral services were held Dec. 7 at Pine Grove Church of God of Prophecy. Bro. Jack Lawson officiated, with burial in Green Acres Memory Gardens.
A memorial service was held Dec. 6 at Trinity Tabernacle for Billy Kay Jones, who passed away at home Nov. 29, 2013, at the age of 58.
John William "Bill" Irvin, 85, of Crossville, passed away Dec. 2, 2013, at his home. A memorial service will be held today, Dec. 10, at 2 p.m. at Tansi Community Church, with Dr. Paul Dixon officiating. Family will receive friends on Tuesday at 1 p.m. In lieu of flowers, please make donations to Hospice of Cumberland County.
Roger Morris Goss, 65, of Crossville, passed away Dec. 1, 2013, at Renaissance Terrace in Harriman. Funeral services were held Dec. 5 at Bilbrey Funeral Home, with Bro. Jonathan Loveday officiating. Interment was in Price Cemetery.
Mrs. Louise Sherrill Evans, 89, of Rockwood, passed away Dec. 4, 2013, at the Roane Medical Center in Harriman. Funeral services were held Dec. 6, with the Rev. Jimmy Turner and Bro. Dudley Evans officiating. Interment and burial was held Dec. 7, in Oak Grove Cemetery, Rockwood.
Florine Cole, 71, was born Dec. 31, 1941, to Ambrose and Emma Cole in Rockwood and passed away Dec. 6, 2013, in Crossville. Funeral service was held Dec. 9 at Crossville Memorial Funeral Home, with Charles Snodgrass officiating. Burial will be in Green Acres Memorial Gardens.
