Albert P. Borsos passed away Nov. 9, 2013.
He was born in Plains, PA, July 25, 1924, to Paul and Anna Borsos. he had one brother, Paul. Al served in the United States Army Corps of Engineers during World War II and graduated with a civil engineering degree from Bucknell University.
In 1956, he married Virginia Pittman. Children are Daniel (Drew Ann) of Nashville, Valerie (Fred) Picini of Fairfax, VA, and Laura (Stan) Moore of Decatur, AL. Grandchildren are Anna Borsos, Allison (Leroy) Flaten, Lizz Picini, Glorianne Picini, Chris (Katie) Moore and Jon (Katlyn) Moore; and one expected great-grandchild.
After a successful career in industry, Al spent nine years as Mission Service Corps Missionary, planning and supervising construction of small Southern Baptist churches in West Virginia and coordinating volunteer construction teams. Today there are more than 50 church buildings in West Virginia as the result.
After moving to Tennessee in 1997, he was an active member of Fairfield Glade First Baptist Church, where he served as deacon, helped organize the men's prayer group and was a long-time Sunday school teacher, teaching his last lesson 12 days before his death. Over the years, he went on assignment with Southern Baptist Disaster Relief and participated in many mission trips to other states and Canada.
Al enjoyed fishing, camping, Scouting, golf and the beach, but his first priorities were his family and his Lord.
In lieu of flowers, his family requests donations to Gideons International.
Hood Funeral Home and Crematory, LLC (www.hoodfuneralhome.com) was in charge of the arrangements.

April Marie Parker, 35, of Crossville, passed away at her home April 19, 2014. Funeral service will be today, April 23, at 1 p.m., with Pastor Ralph Reagan officiating. Burial will follow in Woody Cemetery.
Charles M. Lovitt, 77, of Crossville, passed away April 6, 2014, at Kindred Care Rehab in Algood. Memorial services will be held Saturday, April 26, at 10:30 a.m. from the Chapel of Hood Funeral Home. Burial will follow in Green Acres Memory Gardens. Pastor Robert Krueger will officiate.
David Franklin King, 72, Crossville, passed away on April 18, 2014, at his home. Funeral service will be today, April 22, at 2 p.m. at Crossville Memorial Funeral Home, with Donald Wattenbarger officiating. Burial will follow at Tolletts Chapel Cemetery.

William Edward Day, 89, of Crab Orchard, passed away April 14, 2014, at Cumberland Medical Center in Crossville. Funeral services were held April 17, with Bro. Bob Hawkins officiating.
Thurman McKinley Mutter, 83, of Crossville, TN passed away on March 10, 2014, at Cumberland Medical Center. A memorial service will be held Saturday, April 19, at 1 p.m. at Crossville Memorial Funeral Home.
Jennie Louise May, 82, of Crossville, passed away April 12, 2014, at Parkwest Medical Center in Knoxville. Funeral serivces will be held Saturday, April 19, at 11 a.m. at Fairfield Glade United Methodist Church, with the Rev. Lanita Monroe officiating. Interment will be in Black Oak Cemetery.
James Lesley England, 92, of Sparta, passed away April 14, 2014, at his residence.
