Juanita M. Davis

CROSSVILLE — March 7, 1928 — June 9, 2013

Juanita Marie Davis, 85, of Crossville, passed away Sunday, June 9, 2013. Funeral services were held at Stephen's Gap Church of Christ on Wednesday, June 12, at 1 p.m. with Bro. Thom Hassler officiating. Interment was in Music Cemetery.

Mrs. Davis was born March 7, 1928, in Knox County, TN, the daughter of the late Fred Lee Wilson Sr. and Lucille (Bounds) Wilson. The second of three children, she was known as "sis" to all friends and family.

She moved to Crossville as a teenager. She married John L. Davis on August 3, 1946, in Rossville, GA. She was an avid gardner, both flower and vegetable, taking pride in her flower beds. Her favorite color was blue and favorite flower was dahlias. She loved to raise chickens and kept her children and grandchildren supplied with eggs.

Mrs. Davis was a baker at the Cumberland Mountain State Park for 23 years and retired in 1993. She was a member Steven's Gap Church of Christ.

She is survived by her son, Elmer Davis and wife, Ann, of Crossville; daughters, Penny Smith and Peggy Davis of Crossville; ten grandchildren, Robby Brewer, Mike Brewer, Jeff Brewer, James Wyatt, Mekisha Bolin, Tony Davis, Stormy Davis, Buddy Davis, John Davis and April Castner; and 15 great-grandchildren, Hailey, Dalton, Tanisha, Mackensie, Jasmin, Peyton, Sydney, Kenny, Amy, Allison, Alexis, Kayleigh, Jody, Hallie and Lily.

In addition to her parents, she is preceded in death by her husband, John L. Davis; daughter, Sherry Marie Davis; brother, Fred Lee Wilson Jr.; and sister, Dorothy Maranville.

Pallbearers were Buddy Davis, John Davis, Robby Brewer, Mike Brewer, Jeff Brewer, Tim Bolin, Dalton Davis and Kenny Brewer.

Bilbrey Funeral Home, Inc. (www.bilbreyfh.com) was in charge of the arrangements.
