Billy Ray "Bill" Davis, 77, a resident of the Homesteads community in Crossville, went to be the Lord after a long battle with cancer May 30, 2013. He was surrounded by his loving family at the Cumberland House Hospice.
Funeral services were held June 3 from the chapel of Hood Funeral Home. A Masonic service and burial followed at Fentress Memory Gardens. Bro. Al Watkins and Bro. Tommy Duncan officiated, with special music by Al Watkins and Ed Cagle.
He was born June 16, 1935, in Fentress County, the son of Issac and Ava Beaty Davis. He was retired after many years with TVA as a heavy equipment operator but he loved working with his cattle. He was a firm believer in hard work and helping others.
He is survived by his wife of more than 58 years, Dorothy Ann Beaty Davis of Crossville; sons, Jackie Ray Davis and his wife, Mary, and Marty Allen Davis and his wife, Storme, all of Crossville; grandchildren, Alaine and Antonio Carletti of Crossville, Billy Wayne Davis of Los Angeles, CA, Katie and Sumner McCallie of Chattanooga, TN, Becky Davis and her fiancee, Adam Smith, of Crossville, Isaac and Danielle Davis of Crossville and Jennifer Davis of Nashville; great-grandchildren, Jackson Davis, Lincoln Davis, Pryor Danger Davis, Alexia Carletti and Conner Smith; brother, James Davis and his wife, Carol, of Newburgh, IN; sisters, Maxine Watkins and her husband, Al, of Crossville and Corrine Conatser and her husband, Ruble Sr., of Jamestown and a host of nieces and nephews.
In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his brothers, Luther Davis, Frank Davis and wife, Marie, Jeff Davis, Ralph Davis and wife, Marie, and Barry Davis; and sisters, Claudine Reynolds and husband, Harold, Velma Wirt and husband, Jack, Hester Warren and husband, Andy, Nona Anderson and husband, Rufus, and Veda Goodman and husband, Buzz.
Pallbearers were Kenny Davis, Gary Davis, Mike Davis, Dana Davis, Craig Davis, Ruble Conatser Jr. and Bobby Conatser. Honorary pallbearers were Ryan Davis, Vernon Davis, Ralph Lee Davis, Shawn Conatser, Matt Swafford and Jon Swafford.
Hood Funeral Home and Crematory, LLC (www.hoodfuneralhome.com) was in charge of the arrangements.

Carl Nelson Sherrill, 82, of Pikeville, passed away July 24, 2014. Funeral services were held July 26 from the chapel of Hood Funeral Home. Bro. Chip Winstead officiated, with burial in Walker Cemetery.
Mary Margaret Ives Haack passed away July 27, 2014 in Crossville. She resided at Fairfield Glade Assisted Living near her daughter. She was 98. Memorial services for Mary will be in Muncie, IN.

Harvey Alvis Derrick, 91, of the Grassy Cove community, passed away July 22, 2014. Funeral services were held July 26 at Grassy Cove United Methodist Church. The Rev. Martha Hale and the Rev. Monica Mowdy officiated, with burial in Hedgecoth Cemetery.

Ruth Vicory Yoakum was born on May 9, 1912, to Wilma Pearl McCreary and Walter Carpenter Yoakum in Leavenworth, KS. She passed away on July 17, 2014, at the Wharton Homes at Uplands Village in Pleasant Hill. There will be a service of the worship of God in her memory at the Pleasant Hill Community Church in Pleasant Hill at 2 p.m. on Saturday, Aug. 2.
William “Bill” Fancher Graham, 70, of Crossville, passed away peacefully at home July 19, 2014, after a long and courageous battle with malignant lymphoma. Funeral services were held July 22 at Main St. Church of Christ. Bro. Barry Kennedy and Bro. Larry McDuffee officiated, with burial in Green Acres Memory Gardens.
