Lynn Walsh

CROSSVILLE — Lynn A. Walsh, 78, a long-time resident of Monticello, NY, and Fairfield Glade, passed away after a heroic and courageous battle with lung cancer at her home in Fairfield Glade May 5, 2012. A memorial service will be held at St. Francis of Assisi Catholic Church in Fairfield Glade.

Mrs. Walsh was born in Long Island City Oct. 27, 1933, the daughter of George L. Joseph and Helen A. Bevacqua Moebius.

She attended Concord State Teachers College and was a long-time office manager for Martin Cowan, MD, in Monticello, NY, retiring in September 1989. After retirement, she and her soul mate enjoyed extensive travel. Along the way, she touched many people and those she met loved her.

Survivors include three daughters and their spouses, Kathleen and Tracy Bryant of Holden, MO, Beth and Jeffrey Goldstein of Monticello, NY, and Eileen and Joe Kolatitis of Wurtsboro, NY; two sons and their spouses, Robert Walsh and Constance Shean of Scranton, PA, and Christopher and Isabelle Walsh of White Plains, NY; brother, George Joseph and wife, Eleanor; sister, Mary Ann Simmons and husband, Bill; three sisters of the heart, Patricia Brooks, Bette Baxter and Martha Williams; 16 grandchildren, Bobby, Jessica, Sean, Bronwyn, Sara and husband, Vinny, Jared, Maeve, Malorie, Shoshana, Trevor, Jimmy, Meghan, Zachary, Ian, Quinn and Fiona.

She is predeceased by her most beloved husband, Robert, and her parents.

Contributions in the name of Lynn A. Walsh may be made to Hospice of Cumberland County.

Crossville Memorial Funeral Home and Crematory, Inc. was in charge of the arrangements.
