Illine Rose

CROSSVILLE — June 25, 1924—Jan. 4, 2014

Illine Vetress (Mullinax) Rose, 89, of Crab Orchard, passed away Jan. 4, 2014, at Cumberland Medical Center in Crossville. Funeral services were held Jan. 8 at Bilbrey Funeral Home, with Bro. Dennis Lovell officiating. Interment was in Green Acres Memory Gardens.

She was born June 25, 1924, in Crab Orchard, the daughter of the late Franklin McDow and Vada Lou Ida (Pennycuff) Mullinax.

Mrs. Rose was a homemaker and a member of Crab Orchard Church of Christ.

She is survived by her husband of 62 years, Roy Lee Rose Jr. of Crab Orchard; sons, Chester Rose (Linda) and David Rose (Sandra), all of Crossville; daughter, Sheila Strock (Randy) of Crossville; daughter-in-law, Lisa Culpepper Rose of Crossville; brother, Steve Mullinax (Carol) of Crossville; grandchildren, Toshua Berdy (John), Kelsey Simpson (Jason), Alison Rose, Danielle Rose, Derek Rose, Sean Strock Tosha Gunter (Ray); and great-grandchildren, Timothy Rosser, Darren Rosser, Karri Berdy, McKinley Gunter, Austin Gunter and Baylee Gunter.

In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her sisters, Ruby Hassler, Dixie Hood and Mary Margaret Mullinax; and brothers, Clyde Mullinax, John Ed Mullinax, Gardy Mullinax, Kenneth Mullinax, Billy Joe Mullinax and U.L. Mullinax.

Pallbearers were Derek Rose, Timothy Rosser, Darren Rosser, Adam Mullinax, Sean Strock and Jason Simpson.

Bilbrey Funeral Home, Inc. ( was in charge of the arrangements.

She passed away on July 17, 2014, at the Wharton Homes at Uplands Village in Pleasant Hill. There will be a service of the worship of God in her memory at the Pleasant Hill Community Church in Pleasant Hill at 2 p.m. on Saturday, Aug. 2.
