Beloved mother and grandmother Iver Lou Oma (Bumbalough) Lester passed away at the age of 86 of a massive stroke on June 4, 2011, in Vancouver, WA, where she resided.
She was born October 16, 1924 in Cookeville, TN, the daughter of the late Esley and Ethel Bumbalough who were homesteaders and lived on Huckleberry Lane in Crossville.
She married Frederick F. Lester at the age of 21 and was divorced in 1968 in California after living on the East Coast at various military bases. She worked at several PX’s on different military bases and finished her career at McMahan’s Furniture Store in Lemon Grove, CA.
She enjoyed sewing, crocheting, needle point, reading, gardening and in her later years, she enjoyed word search puzzles and spending time with her dog, Angel. She loved baseball and country music, especially George Jones. She will be remembered for her southern friend chicken and sweet tea.
In addition to her parents, she is preceded in death by three sisters, Jimmie, Eula and Brydie, and younger brother, William.
She is survived by one brother, Wilfred; one sister, Wilma; and her four daughters, Freda, Rita and Saundra of Vancouver, WA, and Rhonda of Hemet, CA; 12 grandchildren; 18 great-grandchildren; and beloved chihuahua, Angel.

Family will receive friends today, April 18, at Crossville Memorial Funeral Home from 10 a.m. to 1 p.m. Funeral service will follow at 1 p.m., with Bro. Bradley Hatfield officiating. Burial will follow at Rinnie Cemetery.
William Edward Day, 89, of Crab Orchard, passed away April 14, 2014, at Cumberland Medical Center in Crossville. Funeral services were held April 17, with Bro. Bob Hawkins officiating.
Thurman McKinley Mutter, 83, of Crossville, TN passed away on March 10, 2014, at Cumberland Medical Center. A memorial service will be held Saturday, April 19, at 1 p.m. at Crossville Memorial Funeral Home.
Jennie Louise May, 82, of Crossville, passed away April 12, 2014, at Parkwest Medical Center in Knoxville. Funeral serivces will be held Saturday, April 19, at 11 a.m. at Fairfield Glade United Methodist Church, with the Rev. Lanita Monroe officiating. Interment will be in Black Oak Cemetery.

Geraldine Ruth Brown, 87, of Crossville, passed away April 10, 2014. Funeral services were held April 14 from the chapel of Hood Funeral Home. Burial was in Linary Cemetery. Bro. Steve Watts and Bro. Tim Watts officiated.
Mrs. Robin E. Williams, 47, of the Potters Chapel community, passed away April 10, 2014, in the Fort Sanders Hospital. Funeral services were held April 12, with Bro. Roy Langley officiating.
Margaret Mae Thompson, 55, Crossville, passed away April 7, 2014, at Cumberland Medical Center in Crossville. Funeral services were held at Bilbrey Funeral Home April 11, with Bro. Terry Swaw officiating.
James Lee Curtis Stepp, 59, was born June 8, 1954, in Crossville, to George and Jessie Stepp and passed away April 9, 2014.
