Flora Hoover

CROSSVILLE — Feb. 7, 1931—March 20, 2013

Flora Lee (Newberry) Hoover, 82, of Crossville, went to be with her Lord and Savior on the first day of spring, March 20, 2013. Funeral services were held at Bilbrey Funeral Home March 23, with Bro. Mike Kerley officiating. Interment was in Green Acres Memory Gardens.

She was born Feb. 7, 1931, in Alpine, TN, the daughter of the late Benjamin C. Newberry and Rebecca (Ledford) Newberry.

Flora loved her family and enjoyed spending as much time with them as she could. She lived in Orlando, FL, from 1960 to 2003, where she was a member of Tabernacle Baptist Church. After 57 years of traveling and a career in retail, she retired to her hometown of Crossville. She had a deep and abiding faith in God and was a member of Cornerstone Baptist Church in Crossville. Flora enjoyed working on her yard and gardens and was proud of her country, flying the American flag daily in her front yard.

She is survived by her daughters, Patti (Bill) Smith of Crossville, Dee Anna (Arthur) Pitts of Murfreesboro and Debbie (Larry) Heckert of Cedar Rapids, IA; brother, Kirby Newberry of Cookeville; sisters, Ann Connor of Ohio and Oleta Cox of Crossville; and special friend, Ralph Cann of Crossville. She is also survived by 10 grandchildren and five great-grandchildren.

In addition to her parents, she is preceded in death by husbands, Arver D. Hoover, Quint LeMonte and Wilhelm Klein; sisters, Peggy Simmons, Josie Williams, Ovaleen Newberry, Evaleen Newberry and Charity Newberry; brothers, Clydes Newberry, Woodrow Newberry, Benny Newberry and Bedford Newberry; and grandson, Bobby Pitts.

Bilbrey Funeral Home, Inc. (www.bilbreyfh.com) was in charge of the arrangements.
