Jean Curry

CROSSVILLE — April 6, 1929—March 20, 2013

Jean Ethelinda (Kenney) Curry, 83, passed away at home March 20, 2013. Visitation with family is welcome Wednesday, March 27, at her residence, 1713 Vandever Rd. in Crossville from 3 to 7 p.m.

Mrs. Curry was born in Haddonfield, NJ, April 6, 1929, the daughter of Robert Hirst and Katherine Anna (Pfeil) Kenney. She has been married to Carrol Curry for 59 years and they lived most of their married life in Indialantic and Palm Bay, FL. Mrs. Curry worked for the American Telephone and Telegraph Company in Philadelphia during World War II and later as secretary for the First Baptist Church of Indialantic in Florida. She was a wonderful wife, mother and grandmother.

Survivors include her husband, Carroll Curry of Crossville; daughter, Martha Weaver of Crossville; son, Carroll Richard Curry of Palm Bay, FL; sister, Katherine Anna (Kenney) Rowand of Sewell, NJ; seven grandchildren; and two great-grandchildren.

She was preceded in death by her parents, Robert and Katherine Kenney; and brothers, Robert Kenney, Horace Kenney, William Kenney, Clifford Kenney and Thomas Kenney.

Funeral service will be held Wednesday, July 23, at 11 a.m. at Zion Hill Baptist Church, with Bro. Joe Campbell and Bro. Stanley Campbell officiating. Burial will follow in Burgess Cemetery.

The family will receive friends today, July 18, from 10 a.m. to noon at Crossville Memorial Funeral Home, with the service at noon at the funeral home. Bro. Chip Meadows will officiate and burial will be in Haley's Grove Cemetery in Crab Orchard.
