Dorothy Lou Hammons, 85, of Fairfield Glade, passed away May 8, 2014. Memorial services were May 14 at 11 a.m. at Fairfield Glade United Methodist Church.
She was born Jan. 25, 1929, in McLeansboro, IL, the daughter of Frank H. and Myrtle May Hart Hensley. She and her husband, Thomas, married in McLeansboro, Aug. 15, 1948. She was retired after 20-plus years in the real estate industry as an agent, broker, office manager and was a member of the Million Dollar Sales Club, as well. She was a certified residential sales specialist. After a successful career in real estate in Michigan, she and her husband moved to the Glade in 1989, where she enjoyed playing bridge with several different clubs. She was a devout Christian lady and a member of Fairfield Glade United Methodist Church. People will remember her wonderful laugh and great sense of humor, always sharing a funny story with her family and friends. She also enjoyed bargain shopping all across the country.
She is survived by her sons, Capt. Thomas J. Hammons III, USN, RET, and his wife, Lana, of San Diego, CA, and Mr. Mark A. Hammons and his wife, Cyndi, of Greeley, CO; grandchildren, Mr. Thomas J. Hammons IV and his wife, Kelly, of Las Vegas, NV, Master Sergeant Timothy Luke Humerickhouse, USAF, Mrs. Jamie Elaine Leos and her husband, Juan, of Greeley, CO, Petty Officer Andrea Nicole Humerickhouse, USN, MS. Nevaeh, Elaine Hammons of Greeley, CO, and Mr. Mark Anthony Hammons also of Greeley, CO; and sisters, Ruth Johnson and Mary Ann Chapman.
In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Thomas J. Hammons Jr.; daughter, Louana Lee Peontek; granddaughter, Mrs. Abigail Keller; brothers, Clyde Hensley, Carl Hensley and John Hensley; and sister, Thelma Hensley Prichett.
In lieu of flowers donations may be made to Hospice of Cumberland County, Cumberland House Hospice, 30 E. Adams St., Crossville, TN 38555.
Hood Funeral Home and Crematory, LLC (www.hoodfuneralhome.com) was in charge of the arrangements.

Carl Nelson Sherrill, 82, of Pikeville, passed away July 24, 2014. Funeral services were held July 26 from the chapel of Hood Funeral Home. Bro. Chip Winstead officiated, with burial in Walker Cemetery.
Mary Margaret Ives Haack passed away July 27, 2014 in Crossville. She resided at Fairfield Glade Assisted Living near her daughter. She was 98. Memorial services for Mary will be in Muncie, IN.

Harvey Alvis Derrick, 91, of the Grassy Cove community, passed away July 22, 2014. Funeral services were held July 26 at Grassy Cove United Methodist Church. The Rev. Martha Hale and the Rev. Monica Mowdy officiated, with burial in Hedgecoth Cemetery.

Ruth Vicory Yoakum was born on May 9, 1912, to Wilma Pearl McCreary and Walter Carpenter Yoakum in Leavenworth, KS. She passed away on July 17, 2014, at the Wharton Homes at Uplands Village in Pleasant Hill. There will be a service of the worship of God in her memory at the Pleasant Hill Community Church in Pleasant Hill at 2 p.m. on Saturday, Aug. 2.
William “Bill” Fancher Graham, 70, of Crossville, passed away peacefully at home July 19, 2014, after a long and courageous battle with malignant lymphoma. Funeral services were held July 22 at Main St. Church of Christ. Bro. Barry Kennedy and Bro. Larry McDuffee officiated, with burial in Green Acres Memory Gardens.
