Andy H. Goss, 88, of Crossville, passed away May 30, 2013. Funeral services were held June 2 from the chapel of Hood Funeral Home. Burial was in Woody Cemetery. Bro. Gary Robbins officiated, with special music by Belinda Robbins, Greta Cokkinias and Ed Cagle.
He was born Jan. 3, 1925, in Cumberland County, the son of Andy and Lizzie Wyatt Goss. He was retired from the state of Tennessee Forestry Division as a ranger and was also a member of Homestead Baptist Church. He was a United States Navy veteran, having served during WWII, and a member of the Masonic Lodge #483. He was a kind and friendly man never meeting a stranger. He enjoyed getting out and visiting with his friends. His favorite pastime was gathering with his pals at Mitchell's Drug Store sharing stories.
He was a loving and devoted husband, father and grandfather who loved his family greatly.
He is survived by his sons, Andy R. Goss and his wife, Jeannie, Herb Goss and George Goss, all of Crossville; daughter, Janet Turner and her husband, Calvin also of Crossville; sisters, Zenia Goss, Greta Cokkinias, Mary Lou Hutchinson and Connie Vaughn, all of Crossville; brother-in-law, Oscar Elmore of Crossville; sister-in-law, Betty Jo Dunaway of Crossville; grandchildren, Andy and Misty Goss, Jo and Andrea Goss, Hannah and Cal Turner and Caleb Goss; and great-grandchildren, Annah Goss, Joseph Goss and Ellie Turner.
In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his wife, Billie Ruth Elmore Goss; brothers, Volner and Venable Goss; and sister, Agnes Elmore.
Pallbearers were Mark Goss, Jim Cokkinias, Ronnie Stone, Terry Elmore, Randy Elmore and Nick Dunaway. Honorary pallbearers were Oscar Elmore, Hugh Goss, Ed Barnwell and Bob Hinch.
Hood Funeral Home and Crematory, LLC (www.hoodfuneralhome.com) was in charge of the arrangements.

Carl Nelson Sherrill, 82, of Pikeville, passed away July 24, 2014. Funeral services were held July 26 from the chapel of Hood Funeral Home. Bro. Chip Winstead officiated, with burial in Walker Cemetery.
Mary Margaret Ives Haack passed away July 27, 2014 in Crossville. She resided at Fairfield Glade Assisted Living near her daughter. She was 98. Memorial services for Mary will be in Muncie, IN.

Harvey Alvis Derrick, 91, of the Grassy Cove community, passed away July 22, 2014. Funeral services were held July 26 at Grassy Cove United Methodist Church. The Rev. Martha Hale and the Rev. Monica Mowdy officiated, with burial in Hedgecoth Cemetery.

Ruth Vicory Yoakum was born on May 9, 1912, to Wilma Pearl McCreary and Walter Carpenter Yoakum in Leavenworth, KS. She passed away on July 17, 2014, at the Wharton Homes at Uplands Village in Pleasant Hill. There will be a service of the worship of God in her memory at the Pleasant Hill Community Church in Pleasant Hill at 2 p.m. on Saturday, Aug. 2.
William “Bill” Fancher Graham, 70, of Crossville, passed away peacefully at home July 19, 2014, after a long and courageous battle with malignant lymphoma. Funeral services were held July 22 at Main St. Church of Christ. Bro. Barry Kennedy and Bro. Larry McDuffee officiated, with burial in Green Acres Memory Gardens.

Dr. Charles Edward Brookhart passed away July 21, 2014, in Overland Park, KS. He was 85.
