Joseph Pleasanton

CROSSVILLE — July 12, 1933—Dec. 18, 2013

A memorial service for Joseph Irwin Pleasanton, 80, of Crossville, was held Dec. 21 at Bethlehem Baptist Church in Crossville.

Mr. Pleasanton passed away Dec. 18, 2013, at Cumberland Medical Center in Crossville.

He was born July 12, 1933, in Kent County, DE, to the late Kenneth Sadler and Myrtle Tunnel Pleasanton.

Mr. Pleasanton proudly served his country in the U.S. Army in Germany during the Korean War.

He worked for Clayton Homes for 13 years.

In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by two sisters, his twin sister, Jean Pleasanton and Erma Pleasanton Hubbs; and two brothers, Harold Pleasanton and Kenneth Pleasanton.

Mr. Pleasanton is survived by his wife, Patricia Lankford Pleasanton of Crossville; three sons, Joseph Stewart Pleasanton and wife, Anne, of Laurel, DE, Jim Farley and wife, Renata, of Knoxville, and Doug Farley and wife, Brenda, of Cookeville; one sister-in-law, Anita Carey and husband, Richard, of Cookeville; and nine grandchildren.

    Ruth Vicory Yoakum was born on May 9, 1912, to Wilma Pearl McCreary and Walter Carpenter Yoakum in Leavenworth, KS. She passed away on July 17, 2014, at the Wharton Homes at Uplands Village in Pleasant Hill. There will be a service of the worship of God in her memory at the Pleasant Hill Community Church in Pleasant Hill at 2 p.m. on Saturday, Aug. 2.

    Hester Lucille Campbell, 86, of Crossville, passed away July 20, 2014, at Cumberland Medical Center.The family will receive friends Tuesday, July 22, from 6 to 9 p.m. at Crossville Memorial Funeral Home. Funeral service will be held Wednesday, July 23, at 11 a.m. at Zion Hill Baptist Church, with Bro. Joe Campbell and Bro. Stanley Campbell officiating. Burial will follow in Burgess Cemetery.

Chip Meadows will officiate and burial will be in Haley's Grove Cemetery in Crab Orchard.
