Paul Rex

Paul Rex, 68, of the Cumberland Cove community near Monterey, passed away Aug. 14, 2007. Funeral services will be held at 1 p.m. Friday, Aug. 17, at Trinity Assembly in Algood, with the Rev. Mike Campbell officiating. The family will receive friends from noon until the time of services at the church.
Mr. Rex was born Feb. 13, 1939, in Staten Island, NY, the son of John G. Rex Sr. and Janet Burke Rex.
He was employed in law enforcement for 32 years in New York and Florida. He retired as a deputy sheriff with Broward County Sheriff's Office in Florida. He and his wife moved to Tennessee in 1999 and he worked with the Monroe County Sheriff's Office and the security department at Roane State Community College. He was a member of Trinity Assembly in Algood.
Survivors include his wife of 46 years, Theresa Martino Rex of the Cumberland Cove community; daughters and son-in-law, Lisa and Gregory S. Parham Sr., Donna Reilly and Nicole Lane, all of Cookeville; grandchildren, Cassandra A. Parham, Gregory C. Parham Jr., Cory R. Parham, Ashleigh Reilly, Morgan Lane and Christopher Lane; sister, Pat Rex of Staten Island, NY; and brother and sister-in-law, John and Judy Rex of the Cumberland Cove community.
In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his sister, Jane Rex; and brother, Joe Rex.
