Tennie L. Dannel

Dec. 22, 1941 — July 23, 2007

Tennie Louise (Mackie) Dannel, 65, of Crab Orchard, passed away July 23, 2007. Funeral services were conducted July 26 from the chapel of Bilbrey Funeral Home, with Bro. Noble Wright officiating. Interment was in Haley's Grove Cemetery.

Mrs. Dannel was born Dec. 22, 1941, in Crossville, the daughter of Kenneth Charlie and Ellen Magalene (Straider) Mackie.

She was a member of the Church of Christ.

Survivors include her husband, Calvin Dannel; daughter, Claudine Downs of Crab Orchard; sons, Charles Ray Dannel of Crab Orchard, Calvin Dewayne Dannel of Crab Orchard and Danny Lynn Dannel of Dogwood, TN; sisters, Edith Hayes of Crab Orchard, Patsy Barnwell of Crab Orchard and Brenda Lee of Ozone; brothers, Kenneth Mackie of Crab Orchard and Tommy Burgess of Ozone; eight grandchildren; and three great-grandchildren.

In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her sister, Diana Godsey.

Pallbearers were grandsons Shawn Dannel, Greg Dannel, Tyler Dannel, Allen Dannel, Cody Dannel and Nate Downs.

Bilbrey Funeral Home, Inc. was in charge of the arrangements.



Flora M. G. Pettry

April 23, 1917 — July 24, 2007

Flora Margaret Grissom Pettry, 90, of Crossville, passed away July 24, 2007. Funeral services were conducted July 26 from the chapel of Crossville Memorial Funeral Home, with Bob Hennigar officiating. Burial was held July 27 in Akins Cemetery.

Mrs. Pettry was born April 23, 1917, in Clifty, the daughter of William and Flora Belle Broom Grissom.

She was a homemaker and of the Baptist faith. She enjoyed gardening.

Survivors include her daughter and son-in-law, Flora Jean and Thomas Kirby of Crossville; and sister, Willa May Jarrell of Bradford, PA.

In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Ervin Pettry; and sisters, Thelma Edmonds and Ruth Liston.

Crossville Memorial Funeral Home and Crematory, Inc. was in charge of the arrangements.
