Joseph L. Einecker

Dec. 7, 1922 — July 1, 2007

Joseph Lawrence Einecker, 84, of Sparta, passed away July 1, 2007. Funeral services will be held at 11 a.m. Thursday, July 5, at St. Andrews Catholic Church in Sparta, with Father Fred Schmit. Burial will be in Highland Cemetery.

Mr. Einecker was born Dec. 7, 1922, in Chicago, IL, the son of Fredrick A. and Laura Schlimgen Einecker.

He worked at Thomas Industries and served in the Air Force during World War II.

Survivors include his daughter, Sandy Shuburg of Sparta; sons and daughters-in-law, Donald J. and Barbara Einecker of Austin, TX and Jerome P. and Karen Einecker of Smyrna; grandchildren, Jacqueline Wilkerson and Johnny of Sparta, Jennifer Naylor and Dallas of Charlotte, NC, Jason Powell and Jacque of Sparta, Tyler Einecker of Smyrna and Kelsey Einecker of Smyrna; great-grandchildren, Jonathan Wilkerson and Breanna Powell of Sparta; brother, Matthew F. Einecker of Hoffman Estates, IL; brothers-in-law, William Johnson of California and Robert Johnson of Georgia; and sister-in-law, Lenore Retzke of Illinois.

In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his wife, Doris Ruth "Doe" Einecker.

Hunter Funeral Home of Sparta is in charge of the arrangements.



Ross Hood

July 13, 1948 — June 29, 2007

Ross Hood, 58, of Crab Orchard, passed away June 29, 2007. Funeral services were conducted July 1 from the chapel of Bilbrey Funeral Home, with Bro. J.C. Hood officiating. A graveside committal service was held on July 2 in Martha Washington Cemetery in Clarkrange, TN.

Mr. Hood was born July 13, 1948, in Fentress County, the son of Johnny and Edna Etter (Smith) Hood.

He was a heavy equipment operator and was of the Baptist faith.

Survivors include his wife, Dixonell "Dixie" (Mullinax) Hood of Crab Orchard; sisters, Dorothy Crabtree, Lois Keeney and Nadine Hunnicutt, all of Crossville; and brothers, Arnold Hood of Nashville, Layton Hood, David Hood and Billy Hood, all of Crossville.

In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his sisters, Mable Edwards, Marie Hayes and Katherine Meyer; and brother, Robert Hood.

Pallbearers were Layton Hood Jr., Shane Hood, Ray Jones and Ross Crabtree.

Bilbrey Funeral Home, Inc. was in charge of the arrangements.



Lawrence Sisco

Aug. 15, 1929 — July 1, 2007

Lawrence Sisco, 77, of Crossville, passed away July 1, 2007. Funeral services were conducted July 4 from the chapel of Goff Funeral Home of Monterey, with Bro. Brad Sisco and the Rev. Johnny Jones officiating. Interment followed in the Muddy Pond Cemetery in Overton County.

Mr. Sisco was born Aug. 15, 1929, in Muddy Pond, TN, the son of the late Johnnie and Cora Ramsey Sisco.

He was a retired employee of the city of Crossville as a mechanic. He was also a 50-year member of the Green Pond Masonic Lodge #701.

Survivors include his daughter and son-in-law, Janet and Johnny Jones of Clarkrange; sons and daughters-in-law, Roger and Reba Sisco of Monterey and Larry and Connie Sisco of Clarkrange; fiancée, Nancy Hobbs of Crossville; five grandchildren; five great-grandchildren; sisters, Delcie Pierce and Dovie Sisco of Mayland; and brothers, J.B. Sisco of Dayton, OH and Herman Sisco of the Rinnie Community.

Carlis B. Taylor

Oct. 21, 1929 — June 29, 2007

Carlis B. Taylor, 77, of Crossville, passed away June 29, 2007, at NHC Health Care of Sequatchie in Dunlap, TN. Funeral services were conducted July 1 from the chapel of Bilbrey Funeral Home, with Bro. Johnny Goldston officiating. Interment was in Crossville City Cemetery, with full military honors provided by the Veterans Honor Guard.

Mr. Taylor was born Oct. 21, 1929, in Cookeville, the son of Robert Louis and Vesta Jane (Bray) Taylor.

He was retired from Tennessee Department of Transportation where he worked on the road maintenance crew. He was of the Baptist faith. He served in the United States Army and was a veteran of the Korean War.

Survivors include his wife, Barbara (Randolph) Taylor of Crossville; daughters, Deborah Cox of Dunlap, Elaine Mize of Crossville, Lisa Stevens of Crossville and Rhonda Bielik of Beacon, CT; son, Robert Taylor of Crossville; sisters, Nancy Wilson of Sparta, Treva Atkinson and Beatrice Neely of Clarkrange; seven grandchildren; and six great-grandchildren.

In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his sisters, Margie Farley, Bulah LaFever, Birtha Taylor and Monnie Baldwin; and brothers, Clarence Taylor and Holley Taylor.

Pallbearers were Trae Wilhite, Casey Stevens, Nicholas Bielik, Michael Mize, Luke Heral and Will Sutherland.

Bilbrey Funeral Home, Inc. was in charge of the arrangements.
