Gladys Marie Aleba

May 28, 2007

Gladys Marie Aleba, of Marysville, OH, and formerly of Crossville, passed away unexpectedly May 28, 2007.

She was predeceased by her parents, Henderson and Ivora Conley of Crossville, and one daughter, Frances Early Postlethwaite.

She is survived by three children and two sons-in-law, Lawrence Timber Osmond, Gilda Marie Redleaf Osmond, Kevin J. Postlethwaite, Teresa Winter Vernak and Michael P. Vernak; 10 grandchildren, Laura Jean Thompson, Joseph Michael VanKuren, Amy Summer Postlethwaite, Tracy Autumn Postlethwaite, Michael Lawrence Vernak and Ryan Paul Vernak; five great-grandchildren, Steven Cooper, Daniel Cooper, Haily Messenger, Abigail Palmer, Lilly Mariano; brothers and sisters, Lorine Barnwelll, Martha Ann Campbell Christ, Willis and Mona Conley, Emily and Danny Bowman, Clarence and Betty Conley, Pete and Pearl Jordan and Frances Conley; also several nieces and nephews.

Funeral service will be held today, Friday, at the Allen Memorial Home in Endicott, NY. Burial will be in Riverside Cemetery, Endicott, NY.

Allen Memorial Home of Endicott, NY, is in charge of arrangements.



Everette L. Edmonds

May 6, 1923 — June 1, 2007

Everette L. Edmonds, 84, passed away June 1, 2007 at the White County Community Hospital in Sparta. Funeral services were held June 3 from the chapel of Thurman Funeral Home, with Bro. Jim Scott and Bro. Howard Thomason officiating. Interment was in Akins Cemetery in Winesapp.

Mr. Edmonds was born May 6, 1923, the son of Stephen Jerdan Edmonds and Christine Evelyn Akins of Warren County.

He served in the Army during World War II.

Survivors include his wife, Pauline Edmonds; sons and daughters-in-law, Jerry and Ruth Edmonds and James and Rhonda Edmonds, all of Sparta; daughters and son-in-law, Brenda and Jim Scott of Sparta and Patricia (Patty) Edmonds of Miami, FL; brother, Ernest Edmonds of Beckley, WV; sister, Violet Bohannon of Maryland; nine grandchildren; 15 great-grandchildren; and several nieces and nephews.

In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his daughter, Sarah Louise Edmonds; sisters, Lenis Long, Lillie Edmonds Marlow and Lula Edmonds Fuson; brothers, Clarence Edmonds and Avon Edmonds; and grandson, Jerry Michael Edmonds.

Pallbearers were Jeff Scott, Jason Scott, Alex Scott, Ryan Edmonds, Nathan Edmonds, John Edmonds, Stacy Turner and Hersh Phillips.

Thurman Funeral Home, LLC, of Sparta was in charge of the arrangements.



Carl T. Jenkins Jr.

April 4, 1927 — May 22, 2007

Carl Thomas Jenkins Jr., 80, of Crossville, passed away May 22, 2007. Funeral services were conducted May 26 at the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints, with Bro. Mike Mills and Bro. Jesse Rivera officiating. Interment was in Green Acres Memory Gardens.

Mr. Jenkins was born April 4, 1927, in Etowah, TN, the son of Carl Thomas and Ruth Paulina (Ray) Jenkins Sr.

He was a retired real estate agent and was a member of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints. He served in the United States Navy and was a veteran of World War II.

Survivors include his daughters, Linda Ellen Jenkins of California and Kara Pendergrass of Pikeville; sons, Gary Lombardo of Tonawanda, NY and David Lombardo of Buffalo, NY; sisters, Carol Sanderson of Chattanooga and Sandra Hoyle Duyck of Macon, GA; and four grandchildren.

In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his wife, Ella Mae (Keller) Jenkins.

Pallbearers were David DeVos, Robert Bergeron, Leslie Goss, Prentice Taylor, Gary Hodge and Scott Mogenson.

Bilbrey Funeral Home, Inc. was in charge of the arrangements.



Michael Anthony Juif

Feb. 15, 1955 — April 19, 2007

Michael Anthony Juif, 52, of Kansas City, MO, passed away April 19, 2007.

A memorial mass will be held at St. Francis of Assisi Catholic Church June 9 at 10 a.m. with the Rev. Thomas Moser officiating.

Mr. Juif was born Feb. 15, 1955, in Detroit, MI, the son of James and Rosemary (Delaney) Juif.

He was a salesman and of the Catholic faith. He served in the United States Army during the Vietnam War.

Mr. Juif is survived by his son, Trevor Juif of Grosse Point Shores, MI; parents James and Rosemary (Delaney) Juif of Crossville; sisters, Marianne Masserang of Harper Woods, MI, Kathleen Mell of Ontonagon, MI, Ellen Alfonsi of Grosse Point Woods, MI, Dianne Lawson of Crossville, and Maureen Yarber of Crossville; and brothers James W. Juif of Harper Woods, MI, Timothy Juif of Turlock, CA, and Robert Juif of Eagle, CO.

He was preceded in death by his wife, Gina (Depalma) Juif, and his son, Tyler Juif.

Services performed under the direction of Bilbrey Funeral Home, Inc.



Sammye D. McGonigle

March 26, 1942 — May 27, 2007

Sammye Dawn (Kamin) McGonigle, 65, of Sparta, passed away May 27, 2007. A memorial service was held June 1 from the chapel of Bilbrey Funeral Home, with Bro. Vern Daugherty officiating.

Mrs. McGonigle was born March 26, 1942, in Gurdon, AR, the daughter of Sam and Elsie (Floyd) Kamin.

She was a homemaker and a member of the Church of the Nazarene.

Survivors include her daughters, Trisha Lawson of Crossville, Bonnie Slone of Crossville, Bonnie Shatfield of New York and Anna Pugh of Crossville; son, Charles Elmer McGonigle Jr. of Texas; and 12 grandchildren.

In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Charles Elmer McGonigle Sr.

Mary R. Smith

Jan. 22, 1923 — May 25, 2007

Mary Ruth "Polly" Smith passed away May 25, 2007. Funeral services were conducted May 31 from the chapel of Bilbrey Funeral Home, with Bro. Vern Daugherty officiating. Interment was in Crossville City Cemetery.

Mrs. Smith was born Jan. 22, 1923, in Crossville, the daughter of Eugene and Ida Bell (Boston) Davis.

Survivors include her loving children, Brenda Brady, David Smith, Vicky Pennington-Ayupov, Rhonda Molen, April Thomas, all of Dayton, OH, and Pamela Adkins of South Jordan, UT; sisters, Jerry Smiddie, Lorean Campbell and Betty Buck; brothers, Jim and Ikey Davis, all of Crossville; grandchildren, Mike Brady, Ben Pennington, Brandon Brady, Jesse Pennington, Jason and Jessica Molen, Matt Brady, Dustin Young, Hannah Thomas, Alannaha and Hannah Adkins; great-grandchildren, Corbin, Alaina, Mikkaal, Dakota, Dillon, Angelina, Austin, Brianne, Jesse, Jacob and Jason Jr.; and many nieces, nephews, cousins and friends who will miss her dearly. "We will meet you in the morning, Momma!"

In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her loving husband, William Harold Smith; beloved son, Timothy William of Crossville; brothers, Clyde, Ramey "Buck" and Clarence Davis; sister, Amanda (Davis) Bilbrey; and beautiful granddaughter, Alyssa Adkins of Sandy, UT.

Pallbearers were Jason Molen, Brandon Brady, Jesse Pennington, Matthew Brady, Michael Brady, Dustin Young, David Smith and Rick Davis.

Patricia F. Vickers

Feb. 1, 1926 — May 26, 2007

Patricia "Pat" Florence (DeVault) Vickers, 81, of Fairfield Glade, passed away May 26, 2007. A joyful memorial service was held June 2 at Christ Lutheran Church, with the Rev. Jerry Weeks and the Rev. David Vickers officiating.

Mrs. Vickers was born Feb. 1, 1926, in Bucyrus, OH, the daughter of Spencer Harrop and Esther (Bertram) DeVault.

She was a registered nurse, a Michigan realtor and broker, and a member of Christ Lutheran Church. She was a graduate of Kingswood School and Skidmore College. She was a devoted wife, mother and friend. She so enjoyed family gatherings, walking her dog Bailey, PEO, Bible study, church activities, exercising, traveling and just having fun.

Survivors include her husband, Robert Lee Vickers of Fairfield Glade; son, Dale Simmerman (Martin Katz) of Ann Arbor, MI; daughters, Jamie Ellen Worley (Timothy Worley) of Yorktown, VA, Cathie Tulikangas (Paul Tulikangas) of Washington, MI, Sara E. Simmerman (Kevin Bernys) of Commerce Twp., MI, and Patricia Benevich (Martin Benevich) of Alpine, TX; grandchildren, Hilary Worley Hicks, Nicholas and Benjamin Worley, Evan and Damon Wilson, Paul and Emily Tulikangas, Stephanie and Vanessa Granado; three great-grandchildren; and former husband, Dale Simmerman of Washington Twp., MI.

In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her brother, Spencer DeVault; and granddaughter, Laurel Rose Glowacki.

In lieu of flowers, the family has asked that donations be made to the American Cancer Society or your local Hospice.
