Gladys Marie Aleba

Gladys Marie Aleba, of Marysville, OH, and formerly of Crossville, passed away unexpedtedly May 28, 2007.
She was pre-deceased by her parents, Henderson and Ivora Conley of Crossville, and one daughter, Frances Early Postlethwaite.
She is survived by three children and two sons-in-law, Lawrence Timber Osmond, Gilda Marie Redleaf Osmond, Kevin J. Postlethwaite, Teresa Winter Vernak and Michael P. Vernak; 10 grandchildren, Laura Jean Thompson, Joseph Michael VanKuren, Amy Summer Postlethwaite, Tracy Autumn Postlethwaite, Michael Lawrence Vernak and Ryan Paul Vernak; five great-grandchildren, Steven Cooper, Daniel Cooper, Haily Messenger, Abigail Palmer, Lilly Mariano; also several nieces and nephews.
Funeral service will be held today, Friday, at the Allen Memorial Home in Endicott, NY. Burial will be in Riverside Cemetery, Endicott, NY.
Allen Memorial Home of Endicott, NY, is in charge of arrangements.
Margaret Wilma Atkinson

Mrs. Margaret Wilma Atkinson, 92, of Clarkrange, TN, passed away May 26, 2007, at the Country Place Health Care Center in Crossville. Funeral services were held May 29 at the Jennings Funeral Homes Clarkrange Chapel with burial in the Campground Cemetery in Clarkrange.
Mrs. Atkinson is survived by her son, Rodney Atkinson and wife, Anna, of Clarkrange; daughters, Sylvia Webb and husband, Richard, and Patricia Green and husband, David, both of Crossville, Margaret Burgess and husband, Richard, of Huntsville, TN, Connie Sisco and husband, Larry, of Clarkrange, and Mary Jo Anderson and husband, Ronald Dee, of Muncie, IN; sisters, Ilean Helton of Crossville and Edith Drennon of Oliver Springs, TN; sister-in-law, Flossie Taylor of Muncie, IN; 11 grandchildren; 15 great-grandchildren; three step-great-grandchildren; and a host of nieces and nephews.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Luther Atkinson; father, Sam Taylor; mother, Mary Jane Taylor; brothers, Edward Taylor and David Taylor; and sisters, Ella Atkinson and Jerrean Dudney.
In leiu of flowers, the family requests donations be made to the Alzheimer's Associaton.

Velma Ruth James

Velma Ruth (Thurman) James, 86, of Crossville, passed away Tuesday, May 29, 2007. Funeral services were held May 31 at Bilbrey Funeral Home with Bro. Quillen Thurman officiating. Interment followed in Winnie Cemetery in Bledsoe County, TN.
Mrs. James was born July 9, 1920, in Bledsoe County, TN, the daughter of Samuel Floyd and Dossie Mae (Sherrill) Thurman.
She was a homemaker and a member of Safe Harbour Community Church.
She is survived by daughters, Rose Simonsen, Betty Griffith and Marie Renaker, all of Crossville, and Carolyn James of Crab Orchard; sons, Joe James, Charlie James and Darrell James, all of Crossville; daughter-in-law, Janetta James; brother, Gordon Thurman of Spring City, TN; 19 grandchildren; and 25 great-grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Thomas B. James; son, Ivan Newell James; parents, Samuel Floyd and Dossie Mae (Sherrill) Thurman; sister, Mildred Hinch; and brothers, Willard Thurman and Otis Thurman.

Paul Witmer
April 14, 1926 — May 28, 2007
Funeral services for Paul Reuben Witmer, 81, of Deer Lodge, TN, were held May 31 at Mt. Zion Mennonite Church with Marion Garber, Eli D. Yoder, John Yoder and Harlan Garber officiating. Interment followed in the Mt. Zion Mennonite Church Cemetery.
Mr. Witmer was born April 14, 1926 in Columbiana, OH, to the late Phares M. and Minnie Rhodes Witmer. He died suddenly Monday, May 28, 2007, at his home from injuries sustained while felling a tree.
Mr. Witmer was a farmer. His family and friends have been blessed by his faithful Christian example. He loved the Lord and was a member of the Mt. Zion Mennonite Church.
He is survived by his wife, Ruth Martin Witmer of Deer Lodge; one son and daughter-in-law, Allen and Marlene Witmer of Deer Lodge; three daughters and two sons-in-law, Sarah and Jesse Myers of Sparta, Barbara Witmer, and Susan and Paul Troyer, all of Deer Lodge; four brothers and sisters-in-law, David and Martha Witmer of Harrisonburg, VA, Joseph and Betty Witmer of Port Republic, VA, Samuel and Florence Witmer of Broadway, VA, and Amos and Julia Witmer of Dayton, VA; two sisters and a brother-in-law, Mary and Nathan Showalter of Mt. Solon, VA, and Naomi Witmer of Dayton, VA; nine grandchildren, Nathan, Matthew, Sarah, Andrew and Gabriel Witmer and Anna Ruth, Stephen, Lavina and Silas Myers.
In addition to his parents, Mr. Witmer was preceded in death by a brother, John Witmer, and a sister, Ruth Witmer.
Pallbearers were Luke Witmer, Aaron Witmer, Curtis Witmer, Martin Kulp, Jason Witmer and George Kulp.
The family requests that, in lieu of flowers, memorials can be made to the Mt. Zion Mennonite Church. They wish to express their appreciation for the prayers and many expressions of kindness and sympathy shown them during this time.
