The robbery of a curbside fruit and vegetable vendor last week remains under investigation, according to the Cumberland County Sheriff's Department. No one was injured in the incident.

Robert Spagnolo told Lt. Scott Iles that on July 17 he was selling produce on Peavine Rd. when a black Chevrolet Suburban stopped at his rural stand. Two men exited the vehicle and flanked the vendor, leaving him "cornered."

The men asked how much money he had and he told them, "About $20." The two then demanded the money, which Spagnolo pulled from his pocket and gave to the two suspects. Taken was about $47, according to the report.

The two men were described as white males with short hair. One was described as being stocky, in his 40s and having tattoos on his arm. The second man was described as about five-foot, five-inches tall with chin hair.

Anyone with information concerning the identities of the assailants is asked to contact the Cumberland County Sheriff's Department.
