A Lake Tansi man test driving a dirt bike for sale lost control of the motorbike and crashed into a tree, resulting in injuries that sent him to a regional trauma center for treatment.

The incident took place June 23 off Ewa Dr. in Lake Tansi, according to Deputy Sean Mullikin's report.

Travis E. Ballard, 20, of Rocky Lane, reportedly traveled to an Ewa Dr. address to look at a 2003 Yamaha dirt bike that was for sale. He decided to test drive the motorcycle without a helmet and lost control of the bike, crashing into an embankment.

Ballard was rushed to Cumberland Medical Center with a host of internal and external injuries and then was flown to Erlanger Medical Center in Chattanooga for advanced trauma treatment.

His condition this week was not available.
