Crossville 11u Comets won the 11u Girl's AAU National Basketball Championship held June 27-July 2 in Franklin, TN. More than 1,200 girls making up 124 teams from across the country competed in three divisions for the national championship titles. The Comets competed in Division III and played four days of undefeated, phenomenal basketball to bring home the gold. From left are, standing, Coach Becky Brown, Courtney Smith, Maddi Potter, Makenzie Iles, Kelsie Eldridge, Madison McLaughlin, Coach Chelsey Brown and Coach Andy Brown; and kneeling, Sydney Clark, Alli Hyder, Klaire Varney and Raya Walker. Most of the players are members of the South Cumberland Elementary fifth- and sixth-grade team with one player each from Homestead Elementary and Martin Elementary.
