A rural Cumberland County man was seriously injured in an all-trerrain vehicle crash Saturday around 12:30 p.m., according to the sheriff's department.

Willie A. Brown, 78, of East Valley Rd., was treated at the scene for a host of injuries and then was airlifted from a nearby field and taken to The University of Tennessee Medical Center for treatment of a head injury, according to Chief Deputy Scott Iles' report.

Chester Clayborn of East Valley Rd. told the deputy that he was traveling on that road when he found Brown lying under a tree. An ATV was found lying in the road nearby.

Iles reported that Brown was traveling on his driveway when he lost control of the recreational vehicle, causing it to strike the tree, go into a slide and overturn.

Brown's condition at press time was not available.
