Carolyn O'Neal, left, and Carolyn Spencer, co-presidents of the Neighbors and Newcomers Club of Cumberland County, are shown presenting a check for the Imagination Library to James Houston, deputy director of the Art Circle Public Library. Through this program, 53 percent of the young children in Cumberland County, ages birth through five, receive an age appropriate book each month. Through the Governor's Books from Birth Matching Funds Program, the $300 donated by the club will actually purchase $600 worth of books. Huston urged the parents of any young child not presently receiving books to contact him at the library to register. Those wishing more information about the club should watch for reservation information for the Sept. 27 meeting. Dues ($9 before that date, $10 after) may be mailed to Ann Tripp, 21 Rolling Green Court, Crossville, TN 38558.
