The last meeting of the Mayland seniors was Friday, July 25, at 4 p.m. President Patsy Qualls called the meeting to order and welcomed everyone.

Pledge to the flag was given and all sang "God Bless America," led by Roy Welch and Barbara Smith.

Vocation was given by Jim Forsythe. He read scripture and led prayer. President Qualls introduced Tommy Cole from Fair Park Senior Center, who spoke on the Sept. 30 trip to the Dixie Stampede in Pigeon Forge. He said all money for the trip had to be in by Sept. 30, that they had two buses and that they could only take 12 more people on the trip. He said he would have to have the names as soon as possible.

Tony Snider, field representative for the Woodmen of the World, was unable to attend the meeting due to him being at the Woodmen of the World camp. Bingo was still played and everyone enjoyed it.

The buffet was really delicious and a good assortment of food and desserts were available. Ladies, you always do a great job for the buffet. Members thank you!

The next senior meeting will be Aug. 8 at 4 p.m. This will be the business meeting. Vice president James Forsythe will be in charge of the meeting since President Qualls will not be able to attend.

Bingo will be sponsored by WyndRidge Health and Rehab Center. Barbara Neeley will be at the center.

Plan to attend this meeting and bring a friend with you to enjoy the meeting.

Don't forget about the buffet. Please bring your favorite meat dish or casserole. Don't forget about those homemade desserts!
