“Our fifth annual Kids on the Rise (KOTR) Dinner/Silent Auction is one of the most important fundraising affairs of the year,” commented Gene Skipworth, executive director of KOTR.

The event will be held on Saturday, May 30, at the Fairfield Glade Conference Center, 129 Stonehenge Drive. Activities will start at 5:30 p.m. with a review of the silent auction items and bidding. One of the items already collected is a signed basketball by Pat Summitt. The Legends Restaurant is planning a special meal for your dinning pleasure. One hundred fifty tickets are available at $30 per person. Tables of eight are being arranged and you are encouraged to reserve a table for $240 and fill it with your close friends and family.

Rebecca Gentry from the Fairfield Glade United Methodist Church will provide piano music during dinner. Captain “Flashback” and his wife will supply music before and after dinner and will serve as auctioneers like they did last year.

This is a very worthwhile event that will be entertaining and enjoyable for all that attend. Please make reservations today by calling the KOTR office at 459-2388 or Gene Skipworth on his cell phone at 200-0329, or at home at 707-9271. Checks should be made out to Kids on the Rise and mailed to P.O. Box 3912, Crossville, TN 38557. KOTR is a 501 (c) 3 organization and all donations are tax deductible.

Your financial support is much needed to carry out late spring and summer quality programs for the KOTR kids. Plans are in the making for a trip to the Chattanooga Aquarium, Knoxville Zoo, bowling, and boat rides on FFG lakes. Events like these help build relationships between the mentor/mentee. It is also the first time experience for many of these kids that will help build character that will last forever.
