It has been a great season for the junior team tennis program of the Upper Cumberland Community Tennis Association (UCCTA) with a turnout of approximately 51 juniors gathering every Saturday. Weekly they came to practice as enthusiastically as they did the week before. As a result of this turnout, we are proud to say that we will have three teams participating in the state championship in Knoxville, July 19-22. These teams will compete in the 12, 14 and 18 under levels.

I truly appreciate Terry Jacobs for her dedication, time and dependability throughout this program. I would also like to extend my gratitude to Josh Harris, William Taylor and our pro, Bill Van Keuren, and Pat Tingle Fairfield Glade tennis manager, for their help and support. Thanks also to the sponsors, Cumberland County Bank, Dr. Segar Kanagasegar, VolFirst and M.K. Kidney Center. And I cannot forget the parents who were there to help with the ball picking and bringing drinks for the kids — you played a huge part.
