Lady Jets burned by Lady Blaze in substate
The CCHS Lady Jet basketball team's quest for a Class AAA state championship ended Saturday night in the substate with a 72-39 setback to the top-ranked Blackman Lady Blaze.
The Lady Blaze opened the game with a 14-0 start with 5:30 left in the first quarter, before Region 3AAA MVP Gina Dick's jumper stopped the bleeding, but the Lady Blaze finished the quarter with a 11-7 run for a 25-9 lead by quarter's end.
Panthers take region crown
Five Stone Memorial basketball players scored in double figures en route to a 72-54 win over the Walker Valley Mustangs Thursday night to claim the Region 3AAA championship and a berth in the substate round of the Class AAA Tournament Monday night.

Lady Jets advance to Region 3AAA title game
The Cumberland County High School Lady Jet basketball team was clicking on all cylinders Monday night, as they defeated the McMinn County Lady Cherokees 84-54 to advance into tonight's Region 3AAA championship game against the Bradley Central Bearettes and also earned a spot in Saturday's sectional round against either Blackman or Oakland.
Lady Rebels score a three-peat at TNT State Tournament
The South Cumberland Lady Rebels basketball team traveled to Spingfield, TN to play in the TNT State Tournament and captured the tournament for the third year in a row. The Lady Rebels defeated a good team from Rickman to earn their championship title.
Caitlin Reed, Tesa Johnson, Gracee Dishman, and Alex Eldridge all received "All State Team" honors, while Kassidy Cunningham, Kiara Wilson and Jessica Hedgecoth all received "Honorable Mention All State Team" honors.
Lady Jets beat Cleveland 73-31
The Cumberland County High School Lady Jet basketball team advanced into the semi-final round of the Region 3AAA Tournament with a 73-31 victory over the Cleveland Lady Raiders Friday night before a nice crowd in the CCHS gym.
Panthers advance to semi-finals against Cleveland
A packed house at Stone Memorial High School saw the Panthers continue their post-sason play in a Region 3AAA match-up against District 5AAA's fourth-place team, the Ooltewah Owls, and come away with an 82-71 win.
