Elementary basketball tournament tipped off Tuesday

CROSSVILLE — The eastern division of the county elementary varsity tournament opened Tuesday night at Stone Memorial, with the western division games opening Friday night at CCHS.

Fifth seeded Pine View played fourth-seeded Crab Orchard in girls action, followed by the fourth-seeded North vs. fifth-seeded Pine View. Third-seeded Homestead will play the winner of the Pine View-Crab Orchard girls Thursday at 6 p.m., with third-seeded Crab Orchard playing the Pine View-North winner at 7:15 p.m.

Second-seeded North will play in the semi-finals Saturday at 6 p.m. Top seeded Stone girls has a bye all the way to the championship game Monday at 6 p.m.

Second-seeded Stone boys earned a bye into the semi-finals Saturday at 7:15 p.m., with the Homestead boys earning a bye all the way to the championship Monday at 7:15 p.m. as the top seed.

Friday's schedule at CCHS has third-seeded Martin facing fourth-seeded Brown at 6 p.m., followed by third-seed Pleasant Hill vs. fourth-seed Brown in boys play at  7:15 p.m.

Second-seeded Pleasant Hill awaits the Martin-Brown winner Saturday at 6 p.m., while the Martin boys face the Brown-Pleasant Hill winner at 7 p.m.

The top-seeded South teams earned byes into the championship games Monday night.

The countywide semi-finals and championship games will be played at SMHS later next week.
