Youth baseball and softball registration extended

Registration for youth baseball and softball at Crossville Centennial Park has been extended until 5 p.m., Saturday, March 3.

The need is for boys age 6-12 to play Cal Ripkin Baseball, which will be sanctioned for district and state tournaments. The draft is Monday and Tuesday, March 5-6.

Cost is $45 per player. For further information, call Tammy French at 456-6632 or Ben Sweeney for 260-4888 for the 6 to 12 age group.

Spring women's softball league to meet March 16

There will be an organizational meeting for spring women’s league softball Friday, March 16, at 6 p.m. in upstairs room at the Turner Complex at Crossville Centennial Park.

Crossville Babe Ruth sign-ups extended to March 19

Crossville Babe Ruth (ages 13-16) has extended sign-ups until Monday, March 19. Players may register at the Crossville Centennial Park office or French's Shoes.

The registration fee is $45 per child which covers uniforms, insurance, baseballs, etc. Make checks payable to Crossville Babe Ruth.

The league will be playing in post-season tournaments again this year, and home games will alternate between CCHS Jet Park and SMHS Panther field.

    The Cookeville Cavaliers scored seven runs in the fourth, fifth and sixth innings to claim a 7-0 District 6AAA victory over the CCHS Jets Monday night in Cookeville.

    The SMHS Lady Panthers had another stellar day while the Panthers hammered out a solid day in Knoxville in the Tennessee Relays over the weekend.. The Lady Panthers finished ninth out of the 57 scheduled teams to compete, while the boys took 32nd out of the 57.
