Field finalized for 15th state women’s open

The field for the 15th Golf Capital of Tennessee Women's Open is set at 111 players — 45 professionals and 66 amateurs — from 20 states — Arkansas, Georgia, Florida, North Carolina, Colorado, Tennessee, Texas, Virginia, Indiana, Alabama, South Carolina, Kentucky, Kansas, Missouri, Michigan, Nevada, Oklahoma, Pennsylvania, Illinois and Hawaii, and one foreign country — Australia.

The 54-hole tournament, sponsored by the city of Crossville, tees off July 18-20 at Fairfield Glade's Stonehenge Golf Club. The field will be cut to the low 60 and ties for the final round on July 20.

Defending champion Lauren Stratton and two former Big Break contestants — Lisa Bergeon and Christina Lecuyer-Salter head the field. Notable absentees are 2011 champion Kendall Martindale and last year's low professional Mo Martin, who is ranked in the top 30 of the LPGA's money list.

Mari Chun of Pearl City, HI, is the furthest American to attend, while the only foreigner is Australian Jody Ann Fleming. Twenty-eight of the 111 made the final cut (64) from the 2012 tournament.
