The Stone Memorial golf team closed out the regular season with a nine-hole match at Lakeside against Kingston. The Panthers lost 168-177, while the Lady Panthers didn't play.
Dustin Lee led the team with a 38, followed by Stone McCoy (42), Seth Hannah (47), Parker Hill (53) and Chase Allred (50).
"We are looking forward to the district tournament next Thursday at River Watch. As of now, McCoy, Lee, Allred, Hill and Wyatt Smith will be the five for our boys team and Tori Harris will be our only girl," said Coach Nathan Brown.
Monday's match at Stonehenge with CCHS and White County at Stonehenge was canceled after eight to 10 holes because of lightening.
The Panthers lost 201-241 to White County at River Watch.
"We had one group of boys to finish 18 holes before lightening cancelled the match. We counted that group for 18 holes. Then we counted the rest for the front nine only, even though most of them were on holes 14, 15, and 17," said Brown.
Stone McCoy shot 92 vs. Cameron Bruce's 74 of White County in the only 18-hole score to count.
Rounding out the scoring for SMHS were Dustin Lee 49, Parker Hill 50, Wyatt Smith 53 and Chase Allred 51.
Tori Harris had her best nine holes of the season and her career Tuesday with a 44. Paige Cox did not finish.
Shelby Johnson, state qualifier from last year for White County shot a 43.
"I'm extremely proud of the progress Tori is making as the season nears its end. Tori is looking poised to make a deep run into the post season," added Brown.
