Lady Panthers takes wins in VolleyDog challenge

CROSSVILLE — The Stone Memorial volleyball team's record went to 13-5 after competing in the VolleyDog Challenge at Bearden High School Saturday.

The Lady Panthers opened the tournament with a 2-1 win over Sevier County by scores of 25-16, 24-26 and 15-9, and followed that with a 2-0 win over South-Doyle via scores of 25-18 and 25-10.

They played Bearden twice, losing 2-1 by scores of 26-24, 15-25 and 5-15, and 2-0 via scores of 17-25 and 12-25.

After playing at Wartburg Monday, the Lady Panthers will travel to Warren County Thursday for a District 6AAA match and will host the annual Queen of the Mountain Tournament Saturday morning.
