Hillbilly Swat reduced to one-day tournament, entry fee now $300

CROSSVILLE — There are few changes in the Hillbilly Swat to played at Lake Tansi next weekend. The tournament has been reduced to a one-day event on Saturday, Oct. 12, with a 10 a.m. shotgun start. The entry fee being reduced to $300 per team or $75 per person from the original cost of $500 per team, according to Roger Potter, tournament organizer.

The cost which includes one round of golf with cart, prizes and lunch on Saturday.

The field is limited to the first 30 paid entries. The entry deadline is 5 p.m Oct. 9

All participants will play the back tees. Seniors (65 and over) and ladies may play the gold tees, which will be moved back from their original location to a position that will allow the senior and lady participants to contribute, but will not be given an advantage. Pins will be placed in difficult locations.

The tournament will go on rain or shine. No refunds of any kind  will be given, unless the tournament is rained out.

Cumberland County residents may use a local or league handicap. All other participants most provide a GHIN handicap. Total team handicap must equal at least 39 with a maximum handicap of 18 allowed (for example — two scratch golfers and two 15-handicappers for a total of 30).

All purchases must be complete and paid before party ends that evening.

Groups will play in foursomes. Lake Tansi will provide volunteers on each hole to verify scores. Any and all ties will be broken by sudden death playoffs.

Entries must be returned with payment (check or cash) to Lake Tansi Golf Course, 5050 Shoshone Loop, Crossville, TN 38572.
