Elementary games dodged inclement weather

CROSSVILLE — Four Cumberland County elementary varsity basketball league double-headers  — North at South, Crab Orchard at Martin, Stone at Pine View and Pleasant Hill at Brown — were played Monday night; however, no scores were received at press time Tuesday morning, as  school was dismissed due to the inclement weather. Homestead had the night off.

Still, not enough scores were received from last Thursday's games to have a full report.

Thursday's schedule has Crab Orchard at Brown, Pleasant Hill at North, Homestead at Pine View and Martin at South. Stone has the night off.

Schedule

Dec. 16: Homestead at Martin, Pine View at North, Pleasant Hill at Crab Orchard and Brown at Stone. South is idle.

Dec. 19: South at Pine View, Pleasant Hill at Homestead, Brown at North and Crab Orchard at Stone. Martin is idle.

No more regular season games are listed in January, with the tournament is tentatively scheduled Jan. 27, Jan. 30, Feb. 3, Feb. 6 and Feb. 8; however, that may change due to the availability of both high school gymnasiums and weather conditions.

(Editor's note: It is the home school's responsibility, win or lose, to report results by 9 a.m. the following day. Please include first and last names of all players, whether they play or not, as there may be players with the same last name on both teams. Results of games played two weeks ago or older will not be accepted. When faxing copies of the pages from the scorebooks or the provided scoresheets, please be sure all of the names are legible and include first names of all players. Varsity coaches are reminded to submit schedule additions for January, as no games are listed on the composite elementary schedule. Also, when there is a threat of inclement weather and the possibility of no school the following day, coaches are asked to submit game results before leaving the gym that evening. Scores and rosters may be faxed to 456-7683 or e-mailed to sports@crossville-chronicle.com.)
