CROSSVILLE — The Stone Memorial Panther baseball team was shut out 2-0 by the Kingston Yellow Jackets in the loser's bracket of the District 4AA Tournament Monday evening at Christian Academy of Knoxville (CAK).

In a game that saw few hits on either side, the defense became the deciding factor in the close game.

Pitchers John Martin for Stone Memorial and Kingston's Ben Redden completed the game for their respective teams in the 2-0 final that saw the Yellow Jackets take the victory.

Martin gave up two hits, five strikeouts and no walks.

Redden gave up six hits, eight strikeouts, and one walk.

The game difference turned out to be in the error column with SMHS committing five at third and one at second, while the Yellow Jackets only had one in their stats at short.

Nathan Greene concluded his senior season as the heavy hitter with a double and two singles going 3-3. Jason Moldenhauer, Gabriel Caballero, and Clay Wilson each contributed singles in the contest.
